‘GH’ Spoilers: Lucas’s Mysterious Wyndemere Decision Explained – Van Hansis Warns Of A Deadly Setup

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Van Hansis (Lucas Jones) suggests that Lucas’ decision seems optimistic at first glance, but it might bring unexpected challenges.

Lucas has always seen the good in others, yet even he feels moving to Wyndemere with Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota)  is a choice that should require a disclaimer.

Carly’s Been Warning Lucas, He Hasn’t Been Listening

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has been warning everyone on Spoon Island, but Lucas keeps saying everything is okay. Now, Van Hansis is revealing a bit more- not too much, since this is GH- but just enough to grab your attention.

Lucas believes he’s finding romance at Wyndemere, but Van Hansis says he’s actually heading into a trap; hinting at some “weird stuff” coming up and enjoys portraying Lucas in this all-emotion, no-caution phase.

Marco’s feelings might be genuine, but his dark side is real too. Carly’s warnings hit hard because Lucas craves her approval more than he lets on, especially with Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) gone.

Hansis Praises Sidwell As A Villain

He praises Carlo Rota’s Sidwell as a fantastic villain. Lucas is blissfully ignorant that he’s in a murder house-and Hansis suggests he won’t remain oblivious for long. “Coming up, some weird stuff starts to happen…” Hansis teased to Soap Opera Digest.

He enjoys playing Lucas in this phase- full of heart and lacking caution-and he doesn’t pretend his character is making smart decisions.

In fact, Hansis finds it amusing that Lucas desires control so much after the fallout with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) and Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) that he confuses danger with freedom.

Hansis Talks About Flawed Prince Charmings On Soaps

Hansis discussed how typical it is for Prince Charmings on soap operas to have their flaws, and Marco’s is no different. He’s unsure if Marco is truly in love with Lucas or just using him, but he believes the reality lies somewhere in between.

This complexity provides an interesting dynamic- Lucas is embracing love while overlooking the warning signs.

He mentioned, “I didn’t know much going into [their relationship], but it’s pretty standard for a soap to have some conflict,” adding, “Otherwise, the characters wouldn’t be seen!” Then there’s Carly; Hansis was straightforward: as himself, he agrees with her-as Lucas, he only perceives criticism.

Hansis Enjoys The Gothic Wyndemere Vibe

Hansis gets excited when discussing the Wyndemere arc’s tone “weird,” “gothic,” “fun”-and it’s clear he means it. He kept praising Rota, saying, “I love that he’s charming, and I can see why Lucas doubts him less because here’s this charming British guy, offering tea and crumpets, and everything seems fine!”

Meanwhile, Lucas is unaware that a murder has already happened in the house. Hansis laughs, noting that Lucas genuinely believes he’s in a Love Island-style show while bodies are being removed.

If Hansis is right, Lucas might be the last to see how dark things can really get; because at Wyndemere, “weird stuff” usually isn’t good.
