EastEnders spoilers and updates for the week of September 22 tease returns, shocks, surprises, and someone’s caught! Sharon Watts (Leticia Dean) returns, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) shocks, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has a surprise and Peter Beale’s (Thomas Law) caught!
Sharon’s Return
Sharon is set to make her highly awaited comeback next week. However, while she reconnects with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), she is taken aback to find her old foe Zoe in the Square, which captivates her attention. This occurs even as Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) warmly welcome her back.
The situation becomes a bit uncomfortable when Sharon and Phil cross paths, but she requests that Phil take care of their son Albie Watts (Arthur Gentleman), to which he agrees.
Sharon then decides to confront Zoe, but later makes her way to The Queen Vic, where she extends an olive branch to Zoe.
Sharon’s Arrived To A Mess
As Sharon focuses on Vicki’s financial troubles, Vicki feels overwhelmed by Joel Marshall’s (Max Murray) actions, prompting her to leave in a huff.
She encounters Zoe, leading to a confrontation between them, but when Zack and Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) intervene, Zack ends up getting hurt.
Later on, Sharon and Phil share a pleasant moment together, but her joy is short-lived when she learns about the altercation with Zoe.
Will the warmth between Sharon and Phil last, or will there be too many distractions? It would seem Sharon has arrived to a great big mess, and gets in the middle of others’ messes as well!
Zoe’s Shock
Zoe attempts to explain herself to Stacey, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), but they are doubtful since she continues to dodge questions about her past. Sharon confronts Zoe once more, this time regarding her behavior towards Vicki and Zack.
However, when Zoe makes a startling confession, Sharon refuses to accept it, leading to an argument as she loses her cool and Kat kicks Sharon out.
Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) finds Sharon distressed and takes her home for a heartfelt conversation with Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth).
Ian tries to persuade Sharon that Zoe is not telling the truth, but what has Zoe disclosed and how does it impact Sharon?
Questions, Questions, And More Questions
Kat and Alfie question Zoe about her statements, but what will she say next? Will Zoe tell the truth, or will she keep acting dodgy?
Later, Kat requests Stacey’s assistance with a plant in memory of Zoe’s daughter in the Square gardens, and Zoe begins to warm up to Kat.
But as mother and daughter connect, what will happen between Zoe and Sharon? And they’re in for another shock when Stacey reveals her exit plans!
Stacey’s Sudden Moving Plans
Stacey informs Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) that Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky) has asked them to move in with him in Brazil, and Lily tries to persuade her to agree.
They are interrupted by a fighting Kat and Zoe, but later, Stacey excites Lily by announcing that she has booked their flights to Brazil. However, when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) walks in and Stacey has to explain, Jean hides her feelings.
Stacey and Lily plan to meet little Charli Slater’s (uncredited) father, Ricky Branning (Frankie Day), to share their news, but with Stacey busy helping Kat, Lily has to explain by herself. She explains when Jack shows up; will Stacey and her children begin a new life with Sean?
Peter’s Caught
Meanwhile, Peter is spotted with another woman while his fiancée Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) is unaware!
Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) creates friction between Lauren and Peter as she moves in, but the real excitement happens when Peter makes friends with another mother, Demi, (uncredited) at baby Jimmy Beale’s (uncredited) sensory class.
It’s obvious that Demi is attracted to Peter, and he decides to go for a drink with her, despite Ian’s warnings.
Peter comes home buzzing with energy and charms Lauren, but Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) has seen Peter and Demi together.
Lauren and Peter find it funny when Oscar walks in on them, before they head to Johnny Carter’s (Charlie Suff) birthday celebration at The Albert.
Penny Holds Peter To The Fire to Admit His Date To Lauren
Penny insists that Peter inform Lauren about Demi, but he doesn’t, and Lauren ends up spotting a flirty text on his phone. Lauren remains unfazed, which makes Peter doubt their relationship.
Later, Penny sets up a coffee meeting for Lauren and Demi, and the three of them connect, leaving Peter in shock when he overhears them laughing at him.
After resolving the situation, Lauren tells Peter she desires more excitement, prompting him to seek advice from Ian and Kathy. However, they are taken aback when Peter reveals his plan – what could it be?
Cindy Delivers A Warning
Cindy is set on guiding a new employee named Jasmine (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) away from Oscar Branning’s (Pierre Moullier) allure. An event at The Albert leads to Mo Harris (Laila Morse) losing her job.
Later, bar owner Cindy is approached by Jasmine, who inquires about job openings. Although Cindy initially says no, she later witnesses Jasmine taking initiative to secure the position and is impressed enough to hire her.
Jean comes in to reprimand them both, but Jasmine leaves a positive impression on Cindy, even though it’s obvious that Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) disapproves.
Cindy Tries To Keep Jasmine And Oscar Apart, Howie’s Money Worries Worsen
Oscar attempts to win over Jasmine, but Cindy cautions her to avoid him-by the week’s end, Oscar invites Jasmine on a date after stealing an outfit for her from the market.
However, as Cindy warns Jasmine about Oscar again, will Jasmine heed her advice or agree to go out with him?
As Jasmine gets comfortable, who is she and is she linked to any of the locals; meanwhile, Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) faces another financial challenge.
When Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) accidentally breaks her costly camera gear, Howie worries about money once more; he finds a new job delivering packages, but will it be enough?
Howie is still hiding the fact that he blackmailed Oscar and Lauren regarding the robbery and profited from Patrick Trueman’s (Rudolph Walker) horse-racing winnings-could Howie be driven to even greater desperation?
