‘Eastenders’ Spoilers Weekly Update: Double-Crossers, Supportive Spouses, Heart Attacks & Surprise Returns

EastEnders spoilers and updates for the week of September 8 tease double-crossers, supportive spouses, heart attacks, dead chickens and surprise returns!

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) double-crosses, Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) supports her spouse, someone has a heart attack, the Bates family finds dead chickens and Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) returns!

Jack Double-Crosses Ravi Gulati

The competition between Jack and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) takes an unexpected turn next week. Jack thinks about his next steps after recent incidents, but Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is wary.

When DS Spencer (uncredited) comes to talk about what occurred, Jack fabricates his location on the night of the shooting, prompting Denise to probe further.

Ravi is then brought in for police questioning, and he risks a lot by naming Jack as his alibi since they were together then.

Jack asserts he was attempting to recruit Ravi as an informant before agreeing to dispose of the gun with him.

Jack Changes His Mind

However, upon DS Spencer’s arrival, Jack experiences a shift in his decision and changes his mind, deciding not to cover for him. After Jack fails to show up, Ravi confronts him, yet Jack firmly claims he is getting rid of the gun today, therefore disposing of the evidence.

Jack instructs Ravi to leave Walford as a diversion for the police, then he secretly sneaks into Ravi’s apartment to stash the gun, in other words, setting him up!

When Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) returns home, it compels Jack to find a hiding spot. Will he be discovered-and will Jack come to regret betraying the perilous and dangerous Ravi?

Supportive Spouses

Elsewhere, Suki helps her estranged wife Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace) when Jonno Highway (Richard Graham) attacks her.

Callum Highway (Tony Clay) steps in to stop a verbal and physical homophobic assault on Eve, but he is stunned to discover that his own father, Jonno, is the attacker.

Callum arrests Jonno, who claims he is innocent and blames a friend instead-while Callum questions Jonno’s honesty, Eve asserts that Jonno is also at fault.

Suki then arrives to support Eve, and the two begin to warm up to each other, weeks after they started living apart.

The conflict between Eve and Suki arose from Suki’s manipulative actions towards both Eve and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James); but can Suki repair their relationship and help the couple reunite?

Callum Shocked As His Dad Suffers A Heart Attack

After Jonno comes back into Callum’s life, Callum’s on-and-off partner Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) meets with Jonno despite Elaine Knight’s (Harriet Thorpe) warnings. Johnny provides Jonno with legal advice to find out if Jonno wants to be with Callum.

Jonno hesitates to speak, but when Johnny mentions he is a Carter, they decide to grab a drink at The Queen Vic.

Callum feels moved when Johnny tells him that Jonno wishes to see him, and  meets Jonno at the flat with Johnny; things start off well until Callum realizes Jonno is after money.

When Callum declines to assist, Jonno reveals his true nature, prompting Callum to tell his father to leave-however, Jonno then collapses and has a heart attack.

Jonno Highway Is Set To Die

Regardless of how this unfolds, it’s clear that Jonno will die, allowing Callum’s husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) to show up at the funeral to offer his support.

Up to this point, Ben is oblivious to Callum’s affair with Johnny, which has only intensified their emotions for each other.

As we anticipate whether Ben will discover this betrayal, it’s hard not to observe that, although Johnny had good intentions in trying to mend the relationship between Callum and his father.

Ben would have easily recognized Jonno’s manipulative tactics from a distance! Callum would have been saved an enormous amount of trouble and grief.

Dead Chickens

Meanwhile, Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) is taken aback when Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) reveals a secret.

Both Nigel and Julie are distressed to learn that their chickens have fallen victim to foxes, but they soon come to the realization that Nigel is inadvertently responsible.

A disagreement ensues as Nigel, who suffers from dementia, becomes frustrated with his memory loss, leading him to question Julie about her mysterious phone calls.

Julie insists that the call pertains to a potential job opportunity, yet the discussion brings back old emotions, leaving Nigel shocked by what follows. He then requests Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to take him out for the day.

Nigel And Phil Go Down Memory Lane

Nigel takes Phil out to the countryside, where he reminisces about burying a time capsule with Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) during their childhood.

Just when it seems they might not locate it, Phil tells Nigel to give up, but they are both taken aback when Nigel successfully guides them to the precise location after all. They are astonished by what they find inside the time capsule, leading to a heartfelt conversation.

Upon returning from their adventure, Julie feels neglected, but later, they jovially assist her in getting ready for a job interview at the school.

However, when Nigel confuses George Knight (Colin Salmon) with Julie’s former boyfriend, Julie ends up skipping her interview to stay home and look after him.

Surprise Returns

Ultimately, the intense happenings related to Zoe’s (Michelle Ryan) comeback impact the family significantly. The gossip is rampant following Zoe’s sensational return to Walford, prompting the Slaters to try and piece their lives back together.

However, numerous questions remain unanswered, and there are many obstacles to overcome. It appears that Zoe has come back after more than twenty years, harboring a significant secret.

As the tension rises again for the family, what events have transpired, and what is the crucial secret that Zoe holds?
