The investigation into the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez comes with a lot of secrecy. Actually, you may have heard that allegedly, a secret grand jury was formed. Allegedly, they consider evidence in the case of the girl whose body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to singer David Burke, known as D4vd.
Who Is Testifying?
Jesse Weber and retired FBI agent Colin Schmitt analyzed the developments on the Law&Crime Network on Wednesday night. In it, they focused on who might be involved in testifying and what that might mean for the outcome of the true crime. In his introduction, Weber credited other outlets with the news that allegedly, the president of David’s touring company, “Robert Morgan Roth” was questioned before a grand jury on Monday.

As it’s all secret, everything has to be termed as “allegedly.” Anyway, a deputy district attorney apparently asked why Roth never called the police. Well, it seems that someone overheard him speaking with an attorney, and saying, “I feel like I didn’t have the responsibility to do that and just wanted to continue with the tour.”
What Is Really Going On?
Naturally, Weber questioned what was really going on. He suggested that if the report is true, then possibly someone close to the singer knew a crime occurred but didn’t act. He asked, “What exactly did Morgan Roth know about what was going on? Does that mean David knew something?”

There is a lockdown on information about the case, so when Schmitt joined the conversation, he highlighted that the duo were “speculating.” Meanwhile, Weber reminded folks that everything is secret, because, well, that’s what a secret grand jury is all about. Notably, there was also mention that PI Fischer went online and claimed secrecy restrictions were an effort to stop him from talking about the case.
A Strategy To Find A Suspect?
Schmitt felt the Celeste Rivas Hernandez story and the grand jury was a strategy. He opined, “I think in this case, the grand jury was impaneled because they want to lock in the witness statements and have no surprises during trial.” Continuing, the former FBI agent said, “they are basically saying there was a cover up.”
And of course, it can be argued that a cover up could indicate a knowing that some sort of guilt existed. So, in his opinion, if Roth was questioned about it, the investigators might be able to find out if he was told by someone not to report the crime. From that, perhaps it could link to anything that D4vd might know.
Toward the end of the discussion, Jesse Weber and Colin Schmitt felt that they agreed the grand jury seems to be moving from the basic facts of the crime to the actions of those around the singer. Obviously, that places David Burke closer to the legal focus. Notably though, he’s still not been named a suspect of any kind.

In the comments section, many people still suspect that there’s some layer of protection for D4VD when it comes to the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. One of them wrote, “If they found a body in my trunk…..they will arrest me immediately!!! investigate later.”
Here are a few other opinions about the alleged grand jury and the way the true crime case is being investigated:
- Literally EVERY adult around her failed to protect her. That should be a warning to us that we should step in whenever we feel a minor is in danger. Don’t worry about what others think. Protect! It make me sick to hear that these managers looked the other way because they prioritized MONEY over a minor’s welfare.
- When are they going to arrest this murdering…? She was 14! He’s a sick monster…
- An abuse of power is knowing details of someone’s murder and not telling the police or anyone. I don’t feel bad for him for a second.
- There’s no way a grown man and a manager that deals with people for a living would take a look at Celeste and think oh well she’s 18 or 19….. There’s no possible way he thought that it was OK for her to be there but yet he did nothing.
