The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say that a lot of critics seem to be rolling their eyes at Beth for this particular reason.

While it was at first cute that Beth wanted her parents Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) back together again, was it truly necessary for her to officiate their wedding? That’s what everyone seems to be asking.

Critics Are Rolling Their Eyes At Beth For This Reason

Clearly, B&B fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some even commented with, “I hope this is not a new trend in real life – kids being the one to marry their parents. I am sure this isn’t legal…isn’t there a minimum age or is Carter signing as the official?”

Another critic wrote, “It is not legal. It’s not even just a matter of signing any documentation, there are certain parts of the ceremony that must be performed by a certified officiant and in most cases you need to be at least 18 to be an officiant.”

“There are certain parts of the ceremony that a minor or any non-officiant can lead, but they can’t legally marry anyone or sign a certificate or documentation.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Curious to see if the show truly ignores reality or if someone does join Beth to perform the necessary parts or if they make a comment about maybe either already having gone to a courthouse and gotten married or planning to be legally married later and this ceremony is just for show to have a family event.”

Is Beth Too Involved?

“When they initially talked about Beth performing the ceremony, they did mention having someone else there to make it official/legal.”
