While there are undoubtedly so many good things about the internet, there’s still some negative aspects and Harry and Meghan have devoted themselves to advocating for the safety of children on social media.
Harry and Meghan‘s latest statement on the dangers of social media for children comes on the heels of US Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing regarding online child safety.
At the hearing, social media bosses, including Mark Zuckerberg and Evan Spiegel, were grilled about the dangers caused by the platforms they founded.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex acknowledged the US Senate Judiciary Committee hearing regarding the dangers of social media by releasing a statement on their Archewell website.
In the message, Harry and Meghan said that even the “best parenting in the world cannot keep children safe from these platforms.”
They claimed that the issue is bigger than division or party lines and therefore, the responsibility of it should not be passed to any one person or organization.
Alongside their statement, they shared a clip of their appearance at a World Mental Health Day discussion in New York on October 10 last year.
The pair said: “We applaud the bravery and determination of the thousands of parents around the country whose advocacy resulted in this hearing.
Over the past few years we have spent time with many of these families, listening to their heartache and their hopes for the urgent change that is needed in the online space.”
“This is an issue that transcends division and party lines, as we saw today at the Senate hearing. The best parenting in the world cannot keep children safe from these platforms.”
They added: “As one of the fathers shared with us: ‘If love could have saved them, all of our children would still be here’. This is not the time to pass the buck of responsibility. It’s the time to make necessary change at the source to keep our children safe.”
Harry and Meghan are parents to two young children: Archie and Lilibet.
