GH Spoilers: What Does Jagger Have On Carly? Our Three Best Theories

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) may have come clean with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) about being an FBI informant and having no choice but to follow orders over the last two years, letting everyone believe he was dead, but there’s one piece of his story that just didn’t add up.

When Sonny asked what kind of leverage the FBI had that forced Jason’s hand into compliance, he made it clear it was all about protecting himself — and now we know that couldn’t have been further from the truth.

As Special Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) watched Jason nearly walk out of Police Commissioner Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office, he reminded his informant that he could act on the information he has on Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) at any time — citing RICO violations and criminal conspiracy charges. What could Jagger possibly have on Carly?

It’s possible that the dirt Jagger has on Carly has little to do with her and everything to do with her ex-husband.

His being her ex could be part of the problem, as it won’t grant her any protection from testifying against Sonny — or him against her.

Jason can see clearly now that there is no way they’re getting back together.

Besides, Sonny is still hitched to Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) and we can rest assured she’s not going to give in to the divorce sooner just so Sonny can jump back into unholy matrimony with her arch-enemy.

Is Jason jumping through hoops to please Jagger just to keep Carly safe from harm at the hands of Sonny’s dirty deeds?

GH Spoilers Leak Jason Won’t Be the Reason Carly Goes Away

It’s also possible that Jason feels even more obligated to protect Carly because he’s the reason the feds have their eye on her in the first place. When everyone thought Sonny was dead, Carly was the natural replacement for him in the business.

Becoming the head of a massive mob operation, she led it with grace, with Jason’s help and support. Could he have missed a step that led to her being implicated in criminal activity?

If so, he’s not going to walk away from this hostage situation with Jagger and let Carly take the fall, because he will see it as himself having failed her.

Of course, Jagger could be bluffing, too. While we know better than to think Jason blindly accepted Jagger’s threat of going after Carly without any proof that he actually had evidence against her, that doesn’t mean the evidence Jagger showed Jason was authentic.

Is it possible he’s been duped by the Special Agent for the last two years — losing that time and his most closely held relationships in the process?
