General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans are quite excited about actor Steve Burton returning to the soap and reprising his “Stone Cold” Jason Morgan character. Steve recent chatted with TV Guide, offering some insight on his Port Charles comeback and what the future holds.

An interesting tidbit from the TV Guide interview was just how much Steve Burton loved his time at Days of Our Lives (DOOL), reprising an old character he played in 1988, Harris Michaels.

In fact, he didn’t have plans on leaving; however, as he relays, while it was “all good” the door did close at DOOL just as GH opened another one.

Still, Burton notes that his jump from Days to GH came together fast, and he was happy that it all happened at the same moment. Talk about serendipity!

When it comes to his GH homecoming, Steve notes that he’s looking forward to seeing if Jason Morgan’s time off-screen has changed him.

He notes that there will be a lot of unknowns around what Jason has been through, so fans need to stay tuned. Burton also jokingly states that he wonders if he’ll get an upgraded leather jacket.

Burton also talked about hanging up Jason’s leather jacket for good, noting that he has 2 to 3 years “left of acting” before he pursues other things in life. With that being said, he’s currently focused on how grateful he is to return to GH.

Sounds like this next Jason Morgan run could be his last, and Steve Burton’s “swan song” in the world of daytime drama, so fans better soak up every moment.

The last viewers saw Jason in November 2021, he was buried in rubble in a tunnel and presumed dead. Just how will the soap rewrite him into storylines?
