The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will cover for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). But how far will she go to protect her-might she even play the “crazy card”?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Perpetuates The Fraud

It’s understandable that Phyllis wouldn’t want to suddenly reveal she’s alive to everyone, at least not until someone else is safely in prison for Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) murder. But in continuing to play dead, in a sense she’s perpetuating the fraud-but to Summer, maybe that’s not all bad.

It was horrible when Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) did it and broke her little boy’s heart, Summer’s husband, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

But how many times have her own grandfather and uncle done the same thing-Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) faked his death several times, as did Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Summer could argue Phyllis’ reasons for doing so are much more valid than Victor’s or Adam’s, and certainly more than Diane’s!

Y & R Spoilers – She Wasn’t Supposed To Tell Daniel Romalotti

Summer wasn’t even supposed to tell her brother, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) because Phyllis didn’t trust him with the secret. Phyllis was right but now it’s too late, Summer had to tell somebody; and now Daniel wanted to go to the police.

He is so sure that Phyllis can get off of charges scot-free because Stark was threatening her and it was self-defense.

But that doesn’t negate the fraud charges that Phyllis could face, going along with Stark’s plot to frame Diane for her murder. But no Newman man has ever faced any fraud charges for faking his death-perhaps it’s Victor they need to go to, not Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman-Abbott Takes It Back?

The Young and the Restless spoilers show Daniel jumps right into telling Chance everything and he jumps right in to interrogate Summer about where her mother was and where she is now. Summer is blindsided and afraid, and can’t believe her brother would betray her and their mother in this manner.

Even though if Phyllis did it, Summer would fuss nine ways past Sunday at her, playing the “crazy card” is the only way she can think to take it back!

Of course, this will prompt visits with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and maybe a stint in the mental ward, but Summer feigns a nervous breakdown and hallucinations.

She knows that Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) is in good hands with his father and pretends Phyllis is right there with her-it’s the only way she knows to protect Phyllis!
