Like many other popular shows, the Paramount+ series Tulsa King is being affected by the ongoing writer’s strike.

Currently, many shows are being delayed by the WGA writers’ strike and it turns out Tulsa King is one of them. Its lead star, Sylvester Stallone opened up to Newsweek to give a status update on season 2 of the Paramount+ series.

Sylvester Stallone On Tulsa King Season 2

As fans wait for news about season 2 of Tulsa King, Sylvester Stallone has now given a discouraging update. Stallone is known for his roles as Rambo and Rocky and had avoided television for most of his acting career. However, Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan has that magic touch when hiring Hollywood stars as cast members, including Kevin Costner, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and more.

Last year, Stallone premiered in the Paramount+ series, Tulsa King, which became yet another hit for Paramount+ and Sheridan. For that reason, the show was quickly renewed for a second season. However, the actor who plays Dwight “The General” Manfredi has bad news for his fans as the show joins the long list of series delayed by the WGA strike.

Speaking to Newsweek, Stallone confirmed the bad news, while still expressing support for the writers in their strike. He said the strike is definitely affecting work as they can’t move forward with many projects, especially Tulsa King. Stallone said that the writers do have a “serious gripe.” He also said there isn’t enough work to keep all the writers going.

Under A Cloud Of AI

The Rambo actor went on to describe how the writers are “living under this cloud of AI [artificial intelligence], saying:

It’s a very terrifying time to be a writer. They work on, like, for our show [Tulsa King], eight episodes, and then you’re done, and that’s it. Like, ‘What do I live on for the rest of the year?’ sort of a thing. So I understand their plight.

Meanwhile, Stallone made it clear in the interview that he is fully behind the writers in their strike. He mentioned that he himself had written 40 screenplays, saying that writing is “the hardest part of the process,” while saying writers “aren’t very appreciated.”

Other well-known people in the entertainment industry have also come out in favor of the writers’ strike. Author George R.R. Martin of Game of Thrones fame recently slammed the industry practice of mini-rooms, which he believes are detrimental to writers, as they attempt to move into show running and other aspects of production.

Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul fame has physically joined the picket line in support of the WGA writers before, sharing a selfie from the front lines.

Meanwhile, while we have no idea when season 2 of Tulsa King will premiere, at least we know it has been renewed and we have to be patient.

Readers, what is your take on the ongoing WGA writers’ strike? Are you in support of the writers, or annoyed at the delays with your favorite shows? Let us know by dropping a comment below.
