GH Spoilers: Spencer Blames Himself For Ryan Playing Him Like A Fiddle

GHGeneral Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease in this week’s Sneak Peek, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) blames himself for Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) playing him like a fiddle. Grandmother Laura Collins (Genie Francis) tries to convince him he’s not to blame, but she has a very stubborn grandson to convince.

General Hospital Spoilers – Two Brothers, No Father

As Spencer stood outside the nursery at General Hospital, he suddenly felt remorse for driving away his father, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss). He looked at his newborn baby brother and told his grandma Laura and uncle Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that because of him, he and his baby brother didn’t have a father. Sonny told him he cannot blame himself and he wasn’t responsible for cleaning up his father’s messes.

Later, Sonny leaves and Laura returns, after Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) had a nightmare and she comforts her. Now she finds Spencer and continues to try and comfort him, and they continue the conversation.

GH Spoilers – Ryan Chamberlain Fooled Everybody

Laura tells Spencer, please don’t blame yourself-you know, if I knew where your father was I’d make damn sure that he was here with you right now. She continues, telling him he shouldn’t be shouldering this burden all by himself, and Spencer looks down in shame, blaming himself and saying he deserves it. Spencer continues, saying he let Ryan Chamberlain use him, and Laura tells him no, he didn’t let him; he didn’t; he believed what absolutely everyone else believed. Everyone believed Ryan suffered from locked-in syndrome, he couldn’t walk, he couldn’t talk, and judging by Spencer’s argument they should all feel guilty; he’d even fooled the experts.

General Hospital Spoilers – Spencer Cassadine Loses It

Spencer continues, becoming impatient with his grandmother, saying it’s not the same thing, because Ryan used him like a weapon against his father and he’d had no idea. He starts to walk away, but Laura follows after him, and she stops him, telling him that is her point – he had no idea, so he shouldn’t blame himself. At that point, Spencer loses it and goes ballistic right in her face, having to blame someone, and it has to be himself.

Spencer yells in Laura’s face, saying of course he is to blame, and she won’t be able to convince him otherwise, he feels like he’s been played like a fiddle. Call it Cassadine pride, call it naiveté, call it downright ignorance-Spencer feels like he should have known better and seen through Ryan’s games.
