GH Spoilers: Cody And Sasha Connect — What Could They Have In Common?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is about to find himself in close quarters with Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattson). These two have more in common than meets the eye, and they’ll figure that out quickly just by making small talk. Virtual strangers to one another, they have one friend in common who might come to suspect there could be something worth exploring between the two of them. Will their mutual friend, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), give them a gentle nudge in the right direction?

It’s been about four months since Sasha lost her husband, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), and she’s starting to move on with life and give everyone around her hope that she’s going to be able to stay on track with sobriety. Battling addiction isn’t for the faint of heart, and it may surprise her to find out Cody knows a thing or two about that.

There’s a lot we still don’t know about Cody and his background, as well as how it intertwines with Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna). However, we do know the latest twist in Cody’s story came with Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) death, and that’s something Sasha could be perfect at helping him get through.

Sasha knows what it’s like to grieve for the person she wanted to spend her life with. While she was married to Brando, and Cody and Britt were barely friends by the time she died, Sasha understands the heartache that Cody is battling with so many questions left on the table tha Britt will never be able to answer for him, and knowing he didn’t exactly do right by her in the end. Sasha and Cody also share a peculiar knack for lying to the people they care about for their own self interest.

It may be water under the bridge now, but once upon a time, Sasha was paid to lie to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and pretend to be her long lost daughter. That lie ate Sasha alive until she came clean. Likewise, Cody has lied to his father, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and is pretending they are not father and son. Similarly, he’s facing the brunt of the emotional effect of that decision, often wishing he just had a father now that he has no fortune. Will Cody learn anything from Sasha’s mistakes?

Although Maxie might think Cody and Sasha could make for a pretty good love story down the road, Sasha knows what to expect with Maxie and that she’s always looking for love — sometimes in the wrong places. Ahem, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth)? Need we say more? For now, Sasha and Cody are just looking for support and friendship as they grieve the people they were in love with, and they might come to be that for one another.
