Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) receives terrible news during the week of August 14-18.

After Shawn gets an update on Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) MIA plane, he imagines horrible scenarios.

Sadly, Shawn receives confirmation that Victor’s jet has been involved in a catastrophic accident, one in which there are no survivors.

After the truth is revealed, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) begins to tell everyone in Salem the devastating news.

Victor had tons of enemies but he was a force of nature and even those who weren’t on the same side as the mogul respected his power and acumen.

Of course there will be many more residents who mourn Victor, as he was beloved by friends and family.

Particularly sad is his wife Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers). She was organizing a huge homecoming dinner for Victor, and the news that he will never come back home is too much to bear.

Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) is also greatly affected by the news because he won’t have a chance to make things right in their fraught relationship.

But it’s Shawn Douglas who has the greatest amount of guilt combined with sorrow because he blames himself for the plane crash.

Shawn is not responsible for the plane going down but he feels responsible for Victor being on the flight.

Shawn is already suffering from the fact that he shot his dad, Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) who is now comatose in a facility far from Salem.

He thinks that Bo should be with him in Salem, and reuniting with friends and family after his long absence.

Shawn will feel the impact of the loss of both men acutely and it could send him down another alcoholic downward spiral and interfere with his treatment progress.

John Aniston passed away November 11, 2022, and this storyline will bring closure to the character while at the same time spawning other arcs involving Victor’s friends and family.

Aniston, the father of actress Jennifer Aniston, was 89 years old and debuted on DOOL in 1985.
