Y&R spoilers reveal that after Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) gave birth, she handed the baby to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway). At first, Abby struggled to connect with and soothe Dominic. However, she eventually learned to relax as the baby was in tune with his mother’s emotions. So, once Abby calmed down, the baby did too.

Devon already had a connection with the baby because he is the one that delivered him. Then, that bond just intensified when Abby left Dominic with Devon while searching for Chance. Now that Chance and Abby are back in Genoa City, the baby has gone home to his parents. Devon is having a hard time dealing with the separation.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that just like Abby struggled to bond with the baby in the beginning, Chance is going through that now. Eventually, Chance will adjust and so will Dominic. The more time that Chance and Dominic spend together, the quicker they will get used to one another.

During the week of December 27, Devon goes over to Chance and Abby’s house. Chance is having trouble soothing Dominic, so Devon steps in and immediately calms the baby. Of course, this will only make Chance feel more uncomfortable about fatherhood. In fact, with Chance already feeling inadequate and like a failure, this could only make him feel even worse.

Devon talks to Chance and Abby about wanting to spend more time with Dominic. Abby tells him that he is welcome to visit as often as he wants. However, Devon doesn’t just want to come visit. Devon is looking for unsupervised overnight stays and would like the legal agreement to reflect that.

Abby doesn’t react as well as Chance does to Devon’s request. Abby says it sounds like Devon wants shared custody. Actor Bryton James told Soap Opera Digest that Devon isn’t looking for any kind of custody and doesn’t want to take Dominic from his parents. No matter what Devon’s intentions, this couldn’t come at a worst time. If Devon spends more time with Dominic, that takes away time from Chance. Since Chance is still trying to establish a bond with Dominic, could Devon’s actions interfere and even ruin the new father’s attempt to connect with his son?
