The Young and the Restless spoilers divulge that Dana Sparks, formerly of the soap opera Passions, is about to return to daytime. According to Soap Opera Digest Sparks will play.

The character interacts with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) who is looking for specialized care for his partner Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan).

Sparks played Faith Standish and Grace Bennett on Passions. She will debut on Y&R on January 7.

Cavett is a medical specialist who helps stroke patients. Chelsea has suffered from a burst aneurysm that was probably caused by her fall in a situation that leads directly back to Adam.

Sparks said of her character that she is, “Direct but kind. I play her as doing the best she can to help the situation, whether it’s being honest or encouraging. She’s very grounded and in a very understanding, compassionate way.”

Will she be able to get through to Adam who is known for his hotheadedness? He will no doubt try to push the doctor around but she sounds as if she can hold her own against the likes of Adam. Adam could be said to be doubly at fault regarding Chelsea’s condition.

First of all, he was the one who cut the power to the building in which Chelsea hit her head. That hit is linked to her aneurysm. Secondly, he would have gotten to Chelsea sooner after her most recent collapse if he hadn’t been lurking at his ex’s wedding. The boat between Adam and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) has sailed for everyone but Adam. Will he finally be able to let go?

Chelsea was waiting for surgery but her aneurysm couldn’t wait. She collapsed at the penthouse while Adam was spying on the Shey wedding. When he finally found her he called for help but it looks like she’s in bad shape if she needs a specialist.

How will Adam handle this latest tragedy? Will he be able to transform himself into the version of whatever he’s calling himself this week and make his family proud?
