Royal Family

The ONE Choice Meghan Made That Was RIGHT For Her And Prince Harry

What exactly did Meghan Markle mean when she reportedly remarked, “I’ve said for a long time to H – that’s what I call him – it’s not enough to just survive something, right? That’s not the point of life. You’ve got to thrive, you’ve got to feel happy.” Well, some are claiming that Meghan meant that ultimately, she was unhappy with life as a working Royal. Meghan was saying that she was merely surviving life in the U.K. and that protecting her happiness and the happiness of “H” (Prince Harry) and of course, little Archie were her primary concerns.

Now, some applaud Meghan on this count because focusing on family and putting family first are admirable qualities. Others however aren’t so sure since Meghan comes from a broken home and may not really know much about what it actually means to put family first. In fact, even though Meghan went on to suggest that she “really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a stiff upper lip,” there are those who believe she didn’t (and doesn’t) understand a thing about sacrifice.

Instead, many believe that Meghan was simply a spoiled brat, a conniving gold digger, who thought life as a Royal would be all smiles, non-stop trips to Wonderland, banquets, and everyone curtseying to Her Royal Highness. What a wake-up call it must have been for Meghan to discover that the British press wouldn’t treat her so nicely!

Rather than the heaps of praise she really did earn for her acting efforts on the hit television series, “Suits,” Meghan would get figurative punches in the face by British tabloids. Meghan would have to attend endless events, wave to the British crowds, have security follow her everywhere she went, and suffer paparazzi in perpetuity!

Apparently, in Meghan’s view, even the outrageous real estate portfolio handed her by Queen Elizabeth upon her marriage to Prince Harry, her incredibly generous Royal salary, along with myriad other perks, benefits, and lavish goodies weren’t enough to satisfy her. No, Meghan needed to focus on her happiness and that of her immediate family.

In the estimation of some, Meghan got it at least partially right. Happiness and family should come first. After all, Author Leo Weidener wrote that “Worrying about family conflicts makes it more difficult to focus on work tasks and takes away that slight edge.” Therefore, to erase the evident friction with Prince Harry’s family, Meghan needed to make a clean get-away.

Others say that Meghan needed to get away all right. Only Meghan was actually genius in her calculations. That’s because in pursuing “Megxit,” Meghan got to keep most of what Queen Elizabeth gave her for a wedding present. Meghan got to keep the notoriety of having married a British prince. Meghan got to keep the image, boost in fame, and social circles she’d married into.

Yet, in “getting away” Meghan also increased the likelihood that she could enlarge her real estate portfolio even more by purchasing multi-million dollar homes in America. Meghan could use her newfound boost in the image to expand her previous career. Indeed her new “royal rebel” status could be Meghan’s platform to launch herself into politics, to multiply her financial earnings a thousandfold … all while escaping the control of Buckingham Palace.

At the end of the day, there will be those who say Meghan’s choices were cold and calculating. Others might be just a bit more generous and suggest that Meghan’s actions instead might be described as “shrewd.” Either way, with money being thrown in Meghan’s direction … more than she’s ever seen in her life … who says money can’t buy happiness?
