Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, actor Matthew Atkinson, who plays Thomas Forrester on the hit CBS soap, says that he is pleasantly surprised to see that Hope is able to see his character in a new light, or at least she’s trying to while giving him another chance. Plus, Thomas knows that Hope’s ability to show compassion is pretty extreme, given everything they’ve gone through and everything that he has caused.

However, when asked if he feels Thomas is remorseful for his past behavior, Matthew puts it this way, “You are seeing Thomas be very grateful that this person who he genuinely loves and has all the faith and respect for in the world is allowing him back in her life. He doesn’t want to do anything to screw that up, and he is going to make efforts moving forward to continue on that path and show her that she made the right decision.”
