Emmerdale Spoilers: Lydia Faces Huntington’s Dilemma Again – What Will She Do?

ITV Emmerdale spoilers and updates reveal that Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) has known for some time that there is a chance she could have inherited Huntington’s disease. At the time, she was conflicted over whether to get tested or not. In the end, she decided not to find out and just continue living her life. However, the lockdown episode teased that the health storyline will pop up again.

As fans recall, there was a time when Lydia came face-to-face with her mother. She revealed that Lydia’s father died from Huntington’s disease and it might have been passed down to her. So, Lydia not only was stunned to see her mother but had to deal with the additional shock of learning she could have a devastating medical condition.

Huntington’s Test Dilemma

Emmerdale spoilers reveal that Lydia and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) went back and forth on what to do. There is a test that Lydia can get done that will show if she has the gene for Huntington’s disease.

On the one hand, it would be good to know what is in Lydia’s future regarding her health. They can prepare for the worst and hope for the best if the test is positive. On the other hand, Lydia didn’t want to waste her life worrying about it. Ultimately, she chose to not get tested.

Emmerdale Spoilers – Sam Dingle’s Plea

In the recent lockdown special featuring Sam and Lydia, Huntington’s disease was brought up again. Sam was concerned about Lydia contracting COVID-19 and what that could mean if she actually does have the condition. He begged her to get tested to find out for sure.

Lydia Dingle’s Health Story Returns

It was previously confirmed that the lockdown episodes would provide clues as to what is coming up next for the characters. So, it is clear that Lydia will be forced to deal with Huntington’s test. Even though she doesn’t want to know if she has it, Lydia will likely get the test done because of Sam’s insistence.

However, what will the results reveal? If she has it, then what do they do next? How do they prepare for that kind of future? Will it change how Lydia lives her life moving forward? On the other hand, it will be a huge weight off of their shoulders if the test comes back negative. We will have to keep watching the soap to find out what happens with this storyline.
