‘The Young and the Restless’ (YR) Spoilers: What Will Devon Do Now?

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) is gone on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Her tragic departure caused by the outstanding write-out that was spurned by Morgan’s voluntary exit from the cast. So, what will Bryton James’ character Devon do next?

Morgan is preparing for the birth of her second child. Time spent with family always matters more than whatever career anyone has, including acting. Kudos to this outstanding actor for a great five-year run and best regards for her future.

Because Devon and Hilary were so good they spurned a couples’ nickname, ‘Hevon’. However, Morgan’s exit didn’t create a recast. That feels smart, as any attempt to fill this slot would likely have faced steep audience challenges.

Devon lost what was to be his first-born child and then Hilary, who became his second-time wife on the same day she died. One of his company’s divisions, GC Buzz, was initially purchased to channel Hilary’s energy. He later repurchased the media entity in order to remain close to his true love, even though he didn’t acknowledge that fact to himself.

Y&R will soon show the fans how it intends to adjust the storylines that involved Hilary and all connected characters. It will be interesting to see if Devon keeps GC Buzz going with Mariah (Camryn Grimes) as the lead host, adds a sidekick, or a new lead. Then again, he might pull the plug on the show, or sell it off.

The church ceremony wasn’t shown, save for Devon standing at the lectern. That was unusual since he specifically mentioned having a religious ceremony. Instead, an after-wake happened at ‘Hevon’s’ penthouse with plenty of dialogue.

As was noted, work should be prioritized after personal life priorities. Surely, some time will pass before Devon finds his next love. Hilary told him to move on without her, but will that be with a current cast member or someone new?

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, how will Devon proceed with his personal life and what decisions will he make with GC Buzz now that Hilary is gone?
