The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: J.T. Endangers His Life and Family – Paul and Chris Don’t Care

J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) is rationalizing his efforts on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s seemingly convinced himself that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) won’t realize that they’ve been betrayed when all is revealed. But that mindset is dangerous for him and his family.

Paul (Doug Davidson) and Chris (Lauralee Bell) falsely believed that Victor (Eric Braeden) was involved with the human trafficking ring last year. Viewers noticed that Genoa City’s powerful married couple didn’t openly acknowledge they were way off-base when that leap in logic proved to be wrong. However, they followed up on that joint assumption by forcing J.T. to admit that he let Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) off the hook.

That directional turn had Nikki somehow guilty of embezzling money from her own husband for sketchily defined reasons. Little dialogue time was spent on the matter. Instead, an invented flashback recently showed Paul and Chris coercing J.T. to help them bring down the ‘Moustache’, who was now believed to be involved in money laundering. Okay, let’s go with that.

J.T. is suffering from some type of serious health issue. His ticker apparently is twice the age that it should be based on a past electrocution, which happened when Luckinbill was part of Y&R’s cast during the last decade.

Mr. Hellstrom doesn’t need this angst, but ‘Picket’ (Paul plus ‘Cricket’, which is Christine’s nickname for the uninitiated) could care less. They want to see Victor put in prison, regardless of who dies. Wait, what?

Yes, it seems as though Luckinbill’s character is currently being written toward his demise. Hopefully that doesn’t happen, but why else would a variety of past characters J.T. was connected to be returning to the cast this month? Possibly, coming developments will allow him to live and the revived star’s presence is just part of the show’s forty-fifth anniversary.

It is believed that Luckinbill’s current run is limited. So killing off J.T. would project out, according to the current track his storyline is taking. Maybe ‘Picket’ will be written back to normalcy and save him instead?
