The Young and the Restless RECAP Thursday, August 23: Phyllis Calls Summer Out, Nick And Billy Battle

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Thursday, August 23, 2018 reveals that over at the Dive Bar, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) fills Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) in on Summer Newman (Hunter King) buying a ticket to go to Philadelphia.

Kyle Rats Out Summer

Kyle tells her that Summer told him that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) couldn’t keep his hands off her and Phyllis doesn’t believe it. She thinks it’s wishful thinking on Summer’s part. Kyle feels Summer is a mess.

At Crimson Lights, Billy Abbott is uncomfortable when Summer Newman appears. She wants to go with him to the office, but he rants about closed-door meetings. Summer leaves. Billy goes over to talk to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

Victoria gets frustrated when she learns that Billy can not take the kids for the weekend. Victoria rants at Billy for not being there for the kids. Billy thinks there is something more going on, but she says she is fine and leaves.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Nick Newman has a conference call to take from home. Sharon points out there are perks to working from home and tells him to meet her in the bedroom. After making love, Nick brings up starting Dark Horse for his family. She wants him to forget about finding a new home.

Summer Follows Billy

Billy Abbott arrives at Jabot and finds Summer Newman in his chair and he is not very happy. Summer tells Billy she thinks he will find what he really wants in Philadelphia and points out it will not be her mother. Phyllis arrives. Summer wishes Billy well at the trade show and leaves.

Phyllis starts in on Billy, but he gets an urgent call and says he needs to find Nick Newman. Later, Summer runs into Kyle and brings up the trip she plans to take. Afterwards Kyle texts Phyllis to let her know Summer is on her way home.

Over at Newman Enterprises, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) sees Victoria Newman asleep at her desk. She is worried about her and wants Victoria to let Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) check her out, but she refuses. Nikki brings up J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) and Victoria tells her to stop.

Angry Billy Confronts Nick

At Crimson Lights, Billy Abbott finds Nick Newman and confronts him about going up on the rent. Sharon McAvoy warns no fighting in the coffeehouse. Nick tells him it was just business. Billy makes a comment about Nick being like his dad.

Out on the patio, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) offers to change Phyllis Summers’ flat tire and Sharon vouches for him. Phyllis agrees. After, Rey and Sharon chat. He gets her to talk more about her relationship with Phyllis. Then after he writes down what he has learned about the two ladies.

At the Athletic Club, Billy Abbott asks Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to do something about Nick Newman. Jack suggests he walked away. Jack ends up admitting he tried to get Nick to cancel the leases Billy had with Dark Horse. Billy gets mad. After, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) joins Jack and he fills her in. Ashley vows to stop Billy.

Phyllis Wants Answers From Summer

At the apartment, Billy Abbott shares a moment with Phyllis Summers and leaves. Summer Newman appears. Phyllis brings up the yoga retreat. Summer goes upstairs and while up there Phyllis finds her plane ticket to Philadelphia. Summer comes back downstairs and Phyllis whips out the ticket and confronts her. She tells Summer, “Looks like the only retreat you’re going to is the one with my boyfriend.”

Back at Jabot, Kyle Abbott fills in Ashley Abbott with his latest findings. He let’s her know that the repair place never worked on Jaboat. Ashley then points out Billy made a fake invoice and took the money. Kyle says that is embezzlement. Ashley wants to get more on him. Billy arrives and accuses Ashley of being behind having the rent being raised. She says she is loyal to Jabot. They bicker.

Back at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Nick Newman assures her that he will not have a battle with Billy Abbott. He gets back on to house hunting and wants Sharon to view the places while he is out of town with Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela). Sharon doesn’t look happy. And that’s a wrap.
