The Young and the Restless RECAP Monday, May 7: Devon Gives Hilary The Go Ahead For A Baby

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Monday, May 7, 2018 reveals that over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) questions her about the night J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) disappeared.

Sharon Uses Distraction Tactics

Sharon is unhelpful so Nick threatens to call Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) but Sharon takes the phone away from him. Sharon tells him that Victoria went away to get away from the stress and she doesn’t want him upsetting her. They go back and forth on what could have happened to J.T. and she gets upset with him for not trusting her and bringing up her past. Sharon insists that she has changed. He is confused about how much time she has been spending with Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) and Victoria and he finds it weird. Sharon then brings up all the things he done to her in the past and they bicker back and forth. She tells Nick to quit trying to rescue everyone. She storms off and takes a walk, then comes back and apologizes. Nick will not drop it so Sharon uses the story of her wanting him and they kiss.

Hilary Comes Clean

Over at Hilary Curtis’s (Mishael Morgan) appointment, she and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) sit in the waiting room waiting on the doctor to come get them. Hilary tries to get rid of Devon but he insists that he is staying by her side. So Hilary decides to tell him the truth but right before she can get the words out of her mouth the doctor interrupts them. The doctor is glad that Devon is there with her for the insemination. Devon is shocked and guesses she is not pregnant.

Devon Wants A Baby as Bad As Hilary

The doctor leaves them alone to talk and Hilary explains about her false positive test. Hilary gets all emotional and explains to Devon her reasoning for what she has done. She tells him the few days she thought she was pregnant was the happiest days of her life. Devon tells her she shouldn’t have lied but he believes her. She vows to never lie to him again and destroy the sample, but he tells her to go ahead with the procedure. She is over the moon. She mentions that Simone (Shanica Knowles) will probably break up with him but Devon doesn’t care he wants a baby just as bad. The procedure goes well and Devon drives her home.

Victor Says He Does Not Believe Dina’s Claims

Over at the Ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) chat about the video of Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams). Kyle tells Victor about her confession but he says he needs something more solid to go on. Victor feels for Dina, but he does not believe her story. Kyle continues to make his case but Victor refuses to accept without concrete evidence. As Kyle goes to leave Victor assures him he is impressed and wants to see where things go. Victor refuses to give the memory card back.

The Abbotts Watch The Preview Of Dina’s Interview

At the Abbott’s place, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) makes arrangements for the screening of Dina Mergeron’s documentary. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) comes in and she is excited for it. She is impressed with how much work Jack has put into it and he just wants to make it special for his mom. Abby mentions how much time Kyle Abbott and Dina have spent together and Jack hopes he shows for the event. Later, Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) shows with the film and Kyle comes in behind him. They all watch a preview of the show and love it. Jack weeps. He thanks Charlie for the excellent work. Kyle looks around as if he is up to something. After Charlie leaves Jack thanks Kyle for caring about his grandmother. Kyle let’s Jack know he will be at the screening. Jack hopes they can put their differences aside. Kyle is hoping for better things in the future.
