Choosing not to be with Reed’s (Tristan Lake Leabu) father or Katie’s (Sienna Mercuri) father, raising Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) son Johnny (Holden and Ryan Hare), working at Brash and Sassy with Billy (Jason Thompson) and all while being a Newman. Well what did she expect, tranquility?

History is hardly the only point present when viewers consider the so-called evolution of certain characters on Y&R. Instead, emotion is purposely woven into the soap-based quilt that represents Miss Newman’s current life. She made her choices and is now dealing with them. However, that conclusion doesn’t withhold compassion, or the chance for growth.
Starting with the premise that one of the two sexes is lower, or higher than the other is goofy. That means J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and Billy aren’t going to be bashed as fault lines in Vickie’s life. Each member of that trio shares blame, as well as credit for many things.
Here’s an outside observer’s seemingly common sense opinion (not fact) about why Vickie is having so many problems as of early 2017. She’s one person, but she’s handling the responsibilities of two people. Yes, two, not three, four, or umpteen.

The influence of consistent fathers in the lives of children is without rational dispute. So too is the influence of consistent mothers. Vickie has, by all accounts, chosen to defy large percentages of human history by believing that she’s a unicorn and not only can go it alone, but should. That ideology is false and reckless. It’s also not progress.
No, the answer to Vickie’s problems isn’t listening to shrieks of “Stay strong!”. Vickie must continue accepting the type of wise council Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) recently offered and also to listen to Victor (Eric Braeden) as well. Doing so won’t make her less of a woman. It will mean that she incorporates the perspectives of both main influences in her life and doesn’t believe that she knows it all. Yes, that is the destructive message wrapped inside so-called ‘modern’ advice.
