Sharon’s nice play on words while she was with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) at the coffee house enabled the character’s formal announcement that she was moving forward with her life in Genoa City. Dylan (Steve Burton) is gone, but not forgotten and new days lie ahead.

In the real world it might take a year, or years for someone of Sharon’s personality type to overcome her husband entering the Witness Protection Program. Add to that Sharon volunteering to say that Dylan left her because of the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) reveal. Okay, Sully wouldn’t have existed in the real world, but viewers get the point.
In order to further Sharon’s storyline, Sally Sussman and her team decided to advance this narrative. So, crying time is gone and mental health issues have been fully contained. A flashback to the past returns Crimson Lights to a one-time co-owner, namely Mrs. McAvoy, or whatever she’ll be calling herself in the near future.
The warm scenes with Nikki did feel realistic because people do make up with family members who they’ve fought with all the time. It was also wonderful that Nikki asked Sharon to help her with the non-profit women’s shelter project that is developing. A lasting truce is now possible and for both character’s sake would make perfect sense.

Sharon never seemed to fully fit in at Chelsea 2.0. So writing her out of that setting is best. It appears that Case’s character is actually being strengthened, a point that Sharon fans have been urging for years.
Due to the regular use of Crimson Lights, Sharon will be seen on a frequent basis. She’ll be able to interact with the regulars and potentially form connections with various fresh faces that happen by.
Yes, a restoration of a once-proud character is underway. As Nikki referenced, Sharon was a rock of strength when Noah (Robert Adamson) was born. Now, in 2017, she is being allowed to become that person again. Yes!
