The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Nick Mimics Victor – Family Protection Line Used

Nick (Joshua Morrow) believed that he would be helping his mom on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Deciding that Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) shouldn’t perform at the charity benefit concert his father orchestrated, Victor’s (Eric Braeden) first-born son opted to sabotaged his mother’s venue. That choice makes a knockoff comparison worth exploring.

How many times has Nick railed against his father’s so-called manipulation of family members and others? One, two, three, seventy, one hundred and six and on from there. Yes, the point has been made without going further, or by offering vivid flashback details.

Now, just because he believes Nikki shouldn’t do something, Nick becomes the judge and applicator. That’s exactly the type of family protection line Victor has used, is using and will continue to use.

Nick believes that his demeanor and actions are similar to his mother’s persona. While not his father’s duplicate, he’s actually acting more like the ‘Moustache’ than he can imagine. Let’s turn fix our gaze on Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) to further prove, not suggest, this point.

What did Nick do after learning that Victor was conspiring with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson), which led to Adam’s (Justin Hartley) apparent death? He didn’t run to Chelsea and tell her everything.

Instead, Nick is keeping that critical information from her. Yes, Chelsea is withholding information about Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity from Nick, but this feature isn’t about her character flaws.

Nikki specifically stated that she wanted to go ahead with her performance. So, while Nick has determined that she’s too fragile, he has no medical credentials.

If Nick was so worried about his mother’s health, why didn’t he ask her physician to go to the Ranch? That bold move may have caused Nikki to react defensively, but at least it would have honestly attempted to address the situation.

Instead of playing it straight, Nick went crooked. And that is why this man-child is standing in Victor’s shadow, regardless of how much he claims otherwise.
