‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jill Suspicious Of Colin’s Investment Return – Reunion Possibility Jeopardized

Jill (Jess Walton) is certainly happy to have gotten her money back on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But the check Colin (Tristan Rogers) sent to the mansion is very suspicious. The current Mrs. Atkinson smells a rat, which resembles the scent her husband wears regularly.

Why didn’t Colin do the right thing this time? He seems incapable of being truthful.

All he had to do was give Jill the letter and the ring, which would likely have resulted in ‘Jilin’ reuniting.

A classic soap scenario allowed recent developments to unfold. Billy (Jason Thompson) and Esther (Kate Linder) jointly decided to evict Colin from the Chancellor mansion while Jill was in intensive care recovering from her heart attack. So everything they thought belonged to Colin was boxed and donated.

Lily (Christel Khalil) felt sorry for Colin after he told her what happened. She gave him all the cash from her wallet and told him to buy back what he could.  Colin was next seen in a thrift store rummaging through various clothes and household items.

Viewers are assuming that Billy must have grabbed the music box from Jill and Colin’s room, as Esther likely would have known it was Katherine’s (Jeanne Cooper) mystery gift. Colin finds and pays for various pieces of clothing Jill bought him in the past, along with the music box. He later discovers a secret compartment in the music box that contains a lock box key, which leads to the letter and ring being discovered.

Colin’s impulse mind decided that he could buy Jill’s trust, when anyone could see that simply returning both found items to his wife would have been best. Ironically, Billy would have served as Colin’s witness for having removed the music box to begin with. But Mr. Atkinson played the wrong hand yet again.

Jill is smart and has now removed her blinders where Colin is concerned. There’s always a chance that she’ll still overlook all that’s transpired. Katherine’s letter did advise Jill that she deserves love, so it’s possible she rationalize a reconciliation. But how could she ever convince herself that this particular man can ever be trusted?
