‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Gloria Gets Corporate Table Seat – Jack Diverts Disaster

Gloria (Judith Chapman) got what she wanted on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The fact that she chose to accept a position, if it can be called that, as Jack’s (Peter Bergman) secretary was unexpected. Yes, modern terminology could tag this job as an executive assistant, if that makes Gloria feel better as well.

‘Gloworm’s’ endgame must be in play, as there’s no way that the two-time Mrs. John Abbott would lower herself to answering phone calls. Plus, doing so for Jack makes no obvious sense unless a long-term plan is in play. But John, Jr. felt he was pressed into a corner, after not being able to convince his false accuser that she should work at GC Buzz, or run the Genoa City Athletic Club.

Jack realizes that Gloria’s blackmail push might be based upon a ploy. After his suggestion to take Lily’s (Christel Khalil) spot was rejected, he noted that the possibility of nothing untoward having transpired between them existed. Gloria was unfazed by his guess and knows that she could deeply damage Jabot’s public presence, along with Jack’s reputation, purely by throwing her possible lie into the scrap grinder that’s located inside the public arena. Hot dogs for everyone!

Having realized what appears to be step 1, Gloria will now bide her time as the next parts of her forming plans proceed. Far from being scorned in 2017, for being cast off after the Fenmore’s takeover didn’t go as planned, Jack’s tormentor has never forgiven him for previously cutting her out of his father’s inheritance.

In this year’s instance, Jack was trapped. He needed to meet Gloria’s demands. During the last decade, when John died, Gloria held no leverage and was thus defeated. This time around the lady in question may well have invented the Sword of Damocles, by exaggerating about the night in question, or is taking advantage of what did happen by maximizing her opportunity for total advantage.

Jack might be pinned right now. But Gloria better stand guard because her opponent is crafty and enraged.
