General Hospital Recap Tuesday May 23: Jake Prepares For Chimera Show – Sonny Crashes Nurses Ball – Nathan Saves Amy

Tuesday’s May 23 episode of General Hospital begins with Mario Lopez and Nina (Michelle Stafford) on the Red Carpet. Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) arrive. Nina has Charlotte do a spin. Nina and Charlotte walk over to the picture area. Charlotte asks if she’s spending the night at home. Nina says she’s so busy with work she’s been sleeping in her office.

Charlotte sees Lulu (Emme Ryan) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) arrive and tells Nina that Lulu bought her the dress she’s wearing. Charlotte runs to Lulu. Valentin begs Nina to come home.

Anna (Finola Hughes), Felecia (Kristina Wagner), Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) and Griffin (Matt Cohen) arrive. Anna catches Valentin’s eyes and Nina notices. Anna explains to Mario that Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is in her third trimester so she’s at home resting.

Emma tells Charlotte she’s Jake’s assistant in the magic show and is sure she can be one too. Charlotte tells Lulu about being an assistant. Lulu tells her to be careful she wants her in one piece. Emma takes Charlotte for a tour.

Anna shows Griffin the Chimera necklace. He thinks Robert should be called. Anna tells him the Chimera is dangerous and ready to be released. Emma returns and tells Anna the Nurses Ball is ready to start. Anna doesn’t notice she dropped the necklace.

Felix (Marc Samuel) and Epiphany (Sonny Eddy) arrive to the red carpet area. Amy (Risa Dorken) arrives. Mario asked about her being alone. Nathan (Ryan Paevey) quickly walks up and claims to be her date. Sam and Jason arrive and Nina mentions how great Sam looks especially just having a baby. Amy thanks Nathan for saving her on the red carpet. Nina interrupts them and Amy leaves. Nina tells Nathan as she’s getting close to Valentin then Anna pops in her head.

Sam (Kelly Monaco) notices Jason (Billy Miller) seems distracted as they wait outside for the Nurses Ball. Jake (Hudson West) walks up and says hello. Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) follow Jake. Jake shows them a magic trick. Jake, Franco and Liz go inside to the red carpet. Jason tells Sam that nightmare with Helena felt like more than just a nightmare. Helena took his wife and kids and Jason feels something is wrong. Later Liz tells Jason that Jake is fine and back to his old self. Liz leaves. Jason says that doesn’t make him feel any better.

Michael (Chad Duell) arrives to Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) to give him Morgan’s journal. Michael mentions to Sonny about him not going to the Nurses Ball. Sonny says he just can’t go tonight. Michael mentions how nice it was last year with Sonny and Morgan came to it. Michael asks if Sonny knows what threw Michael off the rails. Sonny is trying to find answers. Michael leaves. Sonny reads the journal and notices the 600 mg of Lithium. He calls Andre (Anthony Montgomery) to come over right away. Andre arrives and admits he knew the dosage of pills in the bottle was only 300 mg but the pharmacy did fill the prescription with the correct pills.

Sonny doesn’t want Carly to know any of this information until they have something concrete. Andre says Morgan would be out of control if he wasn’t taking any Lithium. Sonny notices something in the bottom of the bottle. He tastes it and says it’s not Lithium. Andre takes the bottle to the lab for an immediate analysis.

Carly (Laura Wright) tells Bobbie about Sonny sleeping with her attorney and mentions he isn’t coming to the Nurses Ball. Sonny is staying home to read Morgan’s journal. Carly says they’re still trying to find out what happened to Morgan. Bobbie says there is still hope and people to love. Joss (Eden McCoy) walks in. They leave for together for the Nurses Ball. Michael, Carly, Joss and Bobbie are getting ready for the red carpet. Michael asks about Nelle. Bobbie says she’s doing fine.

Scott (Kin Shiner) hands Lucy (Lynn Herring) red roses and tells her to break a leg. Lucy isn’t happy to see Ava (Maura West) there with Scott. Lucy tells Ava not to worry; everyone got the memo she’s presenting that huge check in Morgan’s memory during the show. Lucy leaves. Scott asks Ava if she’s nuts. Scott convinces Ava not to give a presentation regarding Morgan tonight. Lucy walks back in and tells Scott how disappointed she is he came in with Ava. Lucy hopes Sonny takes care of Ava. Later Scott and Ava are on the red carpet and Mario mentions her big donation. Ava tells Scott she hopes Sonny didn’t hear any of that.

Jake shows Emma and Charlotte the magic kit and says how Spencer sent it to him. Emma says Spencer told her in an email he was bringing the gift and it wasn’t a magic trick. Jake says they can’t tell anyone as he shows them the Chimera thermos.

The nurses have the first act singing “You’re Not Alone”. Nina walks in and Charlotte sees her. Valentin looks back at Nina. He gets up walks toward Nina and Anna jumps up and interrupts him about the Chimera. Nina turns around and walks away. Jason’s at the bar getting drinks and finds the Chimera necklace on the floor. Carly and Michael are talking after the act is over. Carly mentions Morgan being there with them last year. Michael tells Carly to admit she misses Sonny. Sonny walks in.
