Days of Our Lives Peggy McCay Celebrated A Very Special Milestone

Days of Our Lives spoilers celebrate a very special milestone for the actress who played Caroline Brady. Peggy McCay turns 90 today, on November 3.

Born in New York City on November 3, 1930, the actress attended Barnard College. She also earned her B.A. from Columbia University. Even though she is best known for her roles on “General Hospital” and “Days of Our Lives,” spoilers reveal that she has a long list of acting credits dating back to 1949.

Everyone loved Caroline Brady on “DOOL.” She was the loving mom, grandmother, friend, confidante and neighbor. She always had great advice and served up chowder to cheer up any sad Salemites. On the daytime soap, Caroline’s chowder was the ultimate comfort food, especially when paired with good company.

Unfortunately, “Days of Our Lives” spoilers would reveal that Caroline was sick. Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, it became a huge storyline. Some fans were confused because they thought that the actress had the condition in real life. This is not the case… she only played someone with Alzheimer’s on the soap. In real life, she does not suffer from the condition.

According to IMBD, Peggy McCay’s first credited role was in the television series, “Kraft Theatre.” She played in the episode titled “A Young Man’s Fancy” in 1949. After that, she worked nearly every single year on something until 1964. It seems that she took a bit of a break until 1970, when she was cast in “The Interns.”

Once again, she landed role after role on a yearly basis until 2017, when she was last seen on “DOOL.” She began on the soap in 1983, making it a 34-year run as Caroline Brady. It is quite a remarkable accomplishment. She is also a character that nobody will ever forget and was always a fan favorite.
