Coronation Street Spoilers: Jane Danson Admits She Fears Leanne Could Be Killed Off Corrie

On “Coronation Street,” is the chaotic life of Leanne Tilsley coming to a sudden end? Stranger things have happened, and now Jane Danson is addressing the possibility that her long-suffering alter ego will be let go.

Leanne has been one of Corrie’s fan favorites for over 20 years. During that time she has starred in mega storylines that have included countless disasters and other assorted mayhem. In fact, is there any scandal that Leanne hasn’t been involved in?

The character has been a prostitute, a drug addict, an arsonist, and a romantic cheater.

Recently her story has revolved around having Steve McDonald’s baby, and the complications that arose when his wife Michelle Connor found out.

Although Leanne has been an integral part of the popular sudser, her portrayer knows that nothing lasts forever and she makes it a point not to take her role as Leanne for granted.

In a recent candid interview with Woman magazine, the busy actress acknowledges that she never lets herself forget that any soap character can be written off at the drop off a hat. Instead she focuses on the happiness that her job brings her, and counts her blessings for the opportunity that she’s been given. She also dished a few revealing deets about Leanne’s upcoming storyline!

“The last couple of years have been quite tricky for Leanne,” she said. “But rather than being miserable, we’re getting a little bit of the feisty Leanne of old, which I’ve been championing for quite a while.”

In fact, Danson teased that in the near future an edgier version of Leanne will appear as her husband Nick takes his leave.

“She might look a little frail at times,” the actress continued, “but underneath it all she’s pretty tough, and I’m just trying to inject a little bit of that back, because that’s the essence of who she is.”
