‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Billy Sees Travis In New Light – Tricky Odds of Enduring Relationship Projected

Billy (Jason Thompson) now knows Michelle’s (Kelly Frye) backstory on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) New York friend was Travis’ (Michael Roark) girlfriend and might be again. Yes, all bets all off for the gambler who wants his ex-wife Vickie (Amelia Heinle) back.

How ironic that Billy had actually just turned the corner. Days ago he defended Travis to Vickie, after seeing similarities between Mr. Crawford and himself. But soapy circumstance intervened and Billy happened to sit aside of Michelle at the Genoa City Athletic Club’s bar. She stepped away for a moment and asked this total stranger to keep an eye on her things, which included her unlocked smartphone. Who does that?

Sure enough, Billy peeked at Michelle’s digital screen. It showed a text from Travis, which naturally surprised him. The odds of that entire sequence happening must have been in the trillions. Yet, in daytime they were even at 1 to 1.

Of course Michelle later ran into Billy while she was running in Chancellor Park. That aesthetically pleasing outdoor setting has become a frequent location for various character’s interactions. This cool material development honors the late (and truly great) Jeanne Cooper, which all longtime devotees recognize and applaud.

Billy was kicked out of ‘Philly’ by Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). But he, Y&R’s writers or both had to know that odd super couple wouldn’t last long. Single again, Billy’s interest and protective instincts have naturally drifted back to Victoria. Combine those emotions with the facts Ashley supplied to Billy about Michelle. Yes, that’s a major problem for Travis.

Every successful and enduring relationship is fueled by many factors. Among them include an overriding noun, trust. Vickie’s faith will be shaken when and however Vickie learns about Travis’ indiscretion with Michelle.

Billy has reentered the game he appeared to have lost. Sure enough, Travis isn’t the anti-Billy. With that reality now recognized, the father of Vickie’s children has regained another shot at reviving ‘Villy’. As for ‘Tricky’, its odds of survival are getting worse.
