‘General Hospital’ News: ‘As The World Turns’ Alum Trent Dawson Joins ‘GH’ Cast As Huxley

‘As the World Turns’ alum Trent Dawson has landed a short term role on ‘General Hospital. Soap Opera Digest reports that the former daytime star has been tapped to play the role of Huxley and will debut on June 13.

Dawson is quite popular among long-time viewers of the daytime soap opera genre. He played the role of Henry Coleman from 1999 to 2010 when the show was cancelled. Coleman was initially a character slated for just a few days in 1999 but when the character received positive fan reaction the show decided to extend his time to a couple months. His character became widely popular for ATWT viewers; hence the role became a long term one ending in 2010 when CBS decided not to renew the show.

So far there has been no further information on his role; there is no word on his character connection or relation or what his character is about. His character on ATWT had somewhat of a comedic side to him, maybe Huxley will be similar.

After ‘As the World Turns’ ended its run Coleman booked a guest star role in popular primetime shows such as ‘The Good Wife’, ‘Homeland’ and ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’. He also had a prolific stage career where he played a range of characters both on and off Broadway. Dawson however has been a bit absent from Television lately but not for much longer since he has acquired this GH role, one we are hoping will eventually become a long term one.

So GH fans what do you think of this casting news? Are you happy that Dawson has joined the cast of your favorite soap opera? Are you hoping that his short term role will somehow turn out to be a long term one instead?
