‘General Hospital’ Explosive RUMOR: Rebecca Herbst Contract Problem – Could She Leave GH and Head To Another Soap?

“General Hospital” (GH) Rebecca Herbst has been front and center for approximately the past three years in the Jason (Billy Miller) storyline. Herbst currently plays the character of Elizabeth Webber on ‘GH. Her character is presently dealing with the fallout of withholding Jason’s true identity from him after she found out at the Nurse’s Ball last year.

Earlier today Jamey Giddens posted an article on the Daytime Confidential website about the actresses’ contract negotiations hitting a snag.  Giddens article stated the he heard from multiple sources that Herbst and ABC hit a snag in their contract negotiations for her continuation as the infamous Elizabeth Webber. Word is that NBC’s ‘Days of Our Lives’ is very interested in hiring the popular actress for a role on their serial. From the looks of it General Hospital may just lose another big name star to another soap opera.

Rebecca Herbst joined ‘General Hospital’ back in 1997 and her pairings with her several GH co-stars has lead to her now popularity. Her pairing with Jonathan Jackson’s and Greg Vaughan’s Lucky, her pairing with Tyler Christopher’s Nikolas Cassadine and her pairing with Steve Burton’s and  Billy Miller’s Jason Morgan caused a major rise in fame for the actress.

Currently Liz Webber is in the middle of a story where her son Jake (James Nigbor) really needs the attention of his mother and father. Liz is also tied between stories with Jason and Sam (Kelly Monaco).

So are you hoping to Herbst join the cast of Days of Our Lives? Are you hoping that ABC and Herbst are able to come to a mutual contact decision? Stay tuned as we update you as news on this story develops.
