Michael Logan Tweets About ‘General Hospital’ Ratings GH Ron Carlivati Becomes ‘Granny Grammar’ and Bites Back

Cocky, confident and bitchy. Please? When an inquisitive General Hospital fan asked TV Guide writer Michael Logan his thoughts on the soap opera’s ratings dip, no one expected a Twitter tête-à-tête between Logan and General Hospital’s head writer, Ron Carlivati.

“What do I think about the #GH ratings? It makes total sense given the state of the show. The fans are speaking,” Logan tweeted. However, after giving it some thought – writers tend to rethink thoughts until those thoughts rethink themselves – Logan backtracked, made a double U-turn, took a left at Diplomatic Answer Avenue and stopped at: “That said, I am not at all about the future of #GH and am confidant (sic) ABC will step in and do the right thing.”

A typo can literally and figuratively make or break you, e.g. “I ate your grandma!” versus “I hate your grandma!” A typo is like a depressed ghost. It sneaks in at night, climbs into your bed and cries on your eyes, your dignity, and everything you have ever loved. Unfortunately, Logan’s typo had the worst timing in the history of social media. As “confidant” fled into the Twittersphere like a hungry homeless woman, it accidently bumped into “General Hospital” head writer Ron Carlivati; a man who does not take kindly to spelling mistakes. Silently, meticulously, Carlivati corrected Logan in a single, simple tweet: “@TVGMLogan Confident.”

Shudder. My bladder. Confident writers terrify me.

Logan, not quite ashen and not quite dead yet, responded, “Yes, Ron, I misspelled a word. Thanks for pointing it out. Now grow up.”
