The latest “General Hospital” news reveals that Michelle Stafford, who plays Nina Clay on GH, is set to be a part of a new film that was funded by Kickstarter. Stafford’s tweets indicated that she was “SOOO EXCITED!!!!” to be starring in “Durant’s Never Closes.”
It seems Stafford will play the role of Susie, though the details about her character aren’t clear. The film itself sounds like it might be right up GH viewers’ alley. After all, soap fans love mystery and intrigue. “Durant’s Never Closes” stars Tom Sizemore as Jack Durant, a mysterious restauranteur with ties to the mafia. Durant is apparently quite the ladies’ man and his shady past is full of secrets. The film chronicles the story of one day at Durant’s restaurant.
Pam Grier, Peter Bogdanovich, Michael Richards and Joe Don Baker will round out the cast. As for Michelle Stafford’s role, the “General Hospital” actress has been tight-lipped on most of the details. Still, it sounds like a fun gig that GH fans might want to check out. The film received well-over its $100,000 goal on Kickstarter and it seems to be gaining traction online. As an added bonus, 10 percent of the money received will be donated to the Arizona Humane Society. “Durant’s Never Closes” will be shot in November in Phoenix, Arizona. Travis Mills will direct the movie by Running Wild Films, which is scheduled for release in 2015. We’ll give you updates if any new details about Michelle Stafford’s role emerge.
