The latest “General Hospital” news reveals that Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) fans may be in for a pleasant surprise. Vanessa Marcil recently tweeted that she was “about to share big news” and she’s “so excited!” There have been rumors that Marcil could soon return to “General Hospital” and it looks like those rumors might be right. The tweet shared a link to an Instagram photo that looked awfully familiar to some of Marcil’s followers. Kimberly McCullough, who often pops in and out as Robin Scorpio Drake, replied to Marcil’s tweet with “you’re in a #GH dressing room, I can tell” and added the hashtag “#psychofan.”
It looks like McCullough’s sleuthing spilled the beans on Marcil’s return to GH. “General Hospital” spoilers tease that the Nurses’ Ball is coming up. Perhaps Marcil will reprise her role as Brenda Barrett for that. Of course, there’s always the possibility that Marcil could stick around for an actual storyline. We don’t know for sure how long Marcil will be dropping in for, but fans of Brenda will take whatever they can get.
It’s nice that GH viewers will be treated to another familiar face, especially since they’ll be losing one in the form of Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth). Kurth recently tweeted that he signed a contract with “Days of Our Lives” and would be leaving his role on “General Hospital.” GH has also seen a slight dip in the ratings recently. Maybe return visits from actresses like Vanessa Marcil can give it a boost and put the ABC soap back on track. We’ll give you updates on any upcoming casting changes.
