The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Hopes Ben is Billy-blocker – Vickie Positioned for Money and Love

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) learned that Ben Hochman (Ben Hermes) wanted to invest in a company on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Thinking quickly, she encouraged him to meet with Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Phyllis’ underlying hope is that Ben will serve as a Billy-blocker (Jason Thompson).

Ravi (Abhi Sinha) got an earful from Phyllis about Vickie in the halls of Jabot this week. She ranted about Billy’s obsession with all things connected to his ex-wife. Ravi said that he didn’t know of anyone who could help Brash and Sassy right now. However, Phyllis’ dilemma was about to turn into a potential opportunity.

It’s understandable that Phyllis remains on guard, as ‘Philly’ is far from a cemented relationship. Meanwhile, the potential for ‘Villy’ to be resurrected continues to feel as though it’s always one extended look from happening.

Phyllis put two-and-two together after speaking with Ben later in the same episode. By subsequently sending him in Vickie’s direction, Phyllis was actually hoping that money matters flow well. If Ben invests in Vickie’s company the odds of ‘Ven’ emerging would at least be possible.

Paranoia would be in play if Billy and Vickie didn’t have a history of reconciliation. Their love for each other and family ties don’t make ‘Villy’ Part whatever a certainty. But that fact does mean any romantic interest either party has must always be prepared to fight. And Phyllis is doing that.

It wouldn’t seem that Hermes character is more than a sporadically recurring Genoa City visitor. However, possibly Ben may become another Graham-like (Max Shippee) character.

Vickie has revealed on numerous occasions that she’s not over Billy. Despite her often brave front, she does have a heart. Believing that she recently made a mistake in pushing the father of two of her children away, Vickie has been living in Nowhereland.

She’s not over Billy and currently doesn’t have a clear path back to him. Vickie doesn’t know if his connection with Phyllis is a pure rebound, or more than that. So it’s possible that Ben could be used to see if Billy becomes jealous. That seems like something a Newman would do.
