‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jack and Gloria In Love – Phyllis Knows Different

Jack (Peter Bergman) and Gloria (Judith Chapman) are pretending to be in love on ‘The Young and the Restless’. They’re doing so for Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) benefit, but not to make her jealous. Instead, this ruse became necessary after the former Mrs. Jack Abbott saw the former Mrs. John Abbott and Jackie-boy in an unusual position.

Jack had a lunch meeting with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Ravi (Abhi Sinha) at the Top of the Tower, which was very unusual considering the setting. Anyhoo, Jack received a call from Gloria. Moments later she was standing by the elevators waving at him and Jack’s unexpected second meeting was instantly scheduled.

Gloria recently went to her ex-son-in-law to ask for his input. She wants to facilitate his takeover attempt of Fenmore’s. Of course, ‘Glo’ made that decision without the input of her current daughter-in-law Lauren (Tracey Bregman). Mrs. Fenmore-Baldwin has yet to learn about Gloria’s outrageous actions. She better do so so, or Lauren might soon be calling Jack her boss.

A recent successful thwarting (by Gloria) of an interested silent investor in Lauren’s flailing beauty business served to be a temporary solution. A friend of Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) met with Lauren this week, which Gloria caught wind of. She knew her son’s friend from the past and is attempting to work him over, as he also seems to be interested in pumping money into Fenmore’s.

Jack was being told of Gloria’s latest efforts when Phyllis exited the aforementioned elevator at Victor’s (Eric Braeden) swanky corporate restaurant. Using an age-old visual soap technique, Jack had just grabbed Gloria’s hand when Phyllis looked in their direction.

Thus the setup for ‘Glack’, or ‘Joria’ or whatever was formed. However, Phyllis will never accept the premise that Jack suddenly has suddenly fallen in love with his father’s former two-time wife.

Phyllis knows that Jack still hates the woman and had both of Gloria’s marriages to John (Jerry Douglas) ruled invalid. Regardless of what Phyllis uncovers or relays to her new boss, Lauren better watch out because Jack is intent on taking hold of her family business.
