‘The Young and the Restless’ POLL: Nikki’s Victor’s Favorite Wife – Who Was His Second Favourite? VOTE!

'The Young and the Restless' POLL: Nikki's Victor's Favorite Wife – Who Was His Second Favourite? VOTE!

‘The Young and the Restless’ Victor Newman [Eric Braeden] has been married to a total of nine women. Victor’s favorite wife, of course, is Nikki Newman [Melody Thomas Scott] In nearly four decades together the couple have been married to each other four times, with many marriages in between.

The couple was meant to be together and Victor and Nikki’s love story is perhaps the best ever told on the CBS daytime drama. If ‘Y&R’ fans had to choose their second favorite of Victor’s many wives, whom would they select?

Julia Newman [Meg Bennett] was Victor’s first wife. The couple arrived in Genoa City together and were married from only a year, 1980 through 1981. Victor was overly protective of his young and very beautiful wife but was too busy building his empire to pay attention to her.

Julia was offered a job by a photographer and took it. In addition to the modeling career, Julia wanted a baby. Victor, thinking Julia was having an affair, had a secret vasectomy. Julia did get pregnant and Victor believed the baby was another mans.

Julia miscarried, Victor found out he was the father of the baby. Julia and Victor divorced and she left Genoa City.

Leanna Love, aka Leanna Randolph [Barbara Crampton] blue into Genoa City and was hired by Jack Abbott to pen an unauthorized biography – ‘Ruthless: The Victor Newman Story.’ A sneaky Leanna included a chapter in that book exposing Ashley Abbott’s [Eileen Davidson] affair with Victor, her pregnancy and subsequent abortion.

Victor believed Nikki was behind the expose and quickly divorced her. Victor whisked Leanna off in his private jet to an unknown location and the pair returned to Genoa City married. The marriage was later deemed invalid – Leanna had never legally been married to Victor.

Ashley Abbott [Eileen Davidson also Brenda Epperson] and Victor’s long history includes an affair, an abortion and a stay in a mental institution. When Ashley was released from the mental hospital she returned to Genoa City. Still reeling from the pain of Nikki’s marriage to Jack, Victor turned to Ashley for comfort and they were married.

But Victor and Nikki couldn’t stay away from each other, Victor divorced Ashley and Nikki divorced Jack. Ashley fled to Paris and returned to Genoa City pregnant, married Brad Carlton and let everyone believe Brad was the baby’s father.

Leaving Genoa City once again, eventually, Ashley returned and married Victor for a second time. The second marriage ended after a baby switch caused by Victor’s son Adam Newman caused Ashley to once again have a mental breakdown.

Hope Adams [Signy Coleman] was just a simple, and blind, Kansas farm girl whom Victor met when he disappeared from Genoa City and was presumed dead. Eventually Victor decided to return to Genoa City and Hope reluctantly followed. Hope pined for the simple life in Kansas and Victor took her back to her farm.

Hope revealed she was a virgin, the couple made love and Victor proposed to Hope. The couple returned to Genoa City and married. Hope became pregnant, Victor insisted she have an abortion because the baby could inherit the disease that caused Hope’s blindness. Hope refused and returned to Kansas, later hospitalized after tripping over a chair. Victor rushed to her side, found out Hope decided to raise the baby alone, left Kansas and divorced Hope. Years later Victor and Hope’s son Adam arrives in Genoa City. Later, Hope passes away and leaves the Kansas farm to Adam.

Diane Jenkins [Alex Donnelley also Maura West] a beautiful model for Jabot captivated Jack and the two had an affair while he was married to Patty Williams. Diane married someone else and lead a boring life and had another affair with Jack, who still wouldn’t marry her.

Diane left Genoa City and came back a decade later, reunited with Jack only to be wooed away by Victor. At first Victor married Diane to get revenge on Jack, but he fell in love and the couple had a wonderful life, until Diane wanted a baby.

Now divorced, Diane found out Victor had frozen sperm and arranged to have it stolen. But someone found out about the scheme and things when all wrong.

Diane was inseminated, but a DNA test proved Victor wasn’t the father. Surprise! The baby boy was Jack’s son. Eventually, Diane returned to town, the secret came out, Diane married Victor again, but that marriage was annulled. Diane was murdered by Nikki and that was the end of that.

Sabrina Costelana’s [Raya Meddine] romance with Victor was doomed from the beginning. A college friend of Victoria Newman’s, Victor’s daughter disapproved of the relationship from day one. Victor hired Sabrina to manage an art gallery that he was opening in Genoa City. Sabrina and Victor’s attraction grew and the two began an affair.

Sabrina accepted Victor’s offer to manage the gallery, and his marriage proposal. It wasn’t long before Sabrina informed Victor she was pregnant and one week later the two were married. Just two months later Sabrina was involved in a fatal car accident.

Meggie McClaine [Sean Young] helped Victor out of a tight jam while he was in Ottawa trying to track down Adam. Meggie was a bartender in the bar where Victor mad enemies with a bunch of drunks. Meggie chased the guys out with a baseball bat and Victor told the barkeep he was in her debt. Meggie wanted to be with Victor but the mogul had Nikki waiting back in Genoa City for him.

The drunk guys didn’t forget what Meggie did and they chased her out of town. Meggie made a beeline for Victor.

Meggie left town after discovering Victor was engaged, again, to Nikki. A series of unfortunate events led to Nikki bringing Meggie back to town and hiring her as an assistant. Meggie discovered alcohol was Nikki’s weakness and started spiking her tea.

Meggie caused a lot of trouble, then drugged Victor and dragged him off to Reno for a quickie wedding. Meggie did a lot of bad things in Genoa City, and apparently in Alaska. She was caught, returned to Alaska and Victor divorced her.

Sharon Newman [Sharon Case] was quite possibly the most bizarre and icky of Victor’s brides. Sharon and Victor’s first marriage in 2012 involved a woman name Skye and a volcano – Skye ended up falling to her death in said volcano. Victor had been after Skye too, and Nick thought Sharon was working with Victor.

So, Victor married Sharon and on their wedding night Victor went missing. He had fallen off a horse which caused amnesia. Following Victor’s “death” Sharon took control of Newman Enterprises and Sharon’s relationship with the entire Newman family went downhill from there.
At Victor’s “funeral” Sharon decided to marry Katherine Chancellor’s [the late Jeanne Cooper] son Tucker McCall [Stephen Nichols].

Surprise! Victor is alive, has Sharon thrown in jail and annuals the marriage. Sharon’s life hasn’t been the same since. She burned down the Newman Ranch, changed Summer Newman’s [Hunter King] paternity results and as diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Victor and Nikki are happily remarried and ‘The Young and the Restless’ fans hope the couple will remain married, to each other, for the rest of their lives.

Vote! Other than Nikki, because she is obviously Victor’s favorite, who do you think was Victor’s Second Favorite Wife?

The way your summary of wives is written, it indicates that Adam Newman performed a baby switch before he was born (to Hope); I dont understand. Please explain.

I think Julia understood Victor, better than any of his wives.
