The Walking Dead Season 8 premiere is scheduled to air in October 2017 and it will be the 100th episode of the apocalypse thriller. Showrunner Scott Gimple has teased that we can expect the upcoming season to be like no other.
Season 8 of The Walking Dead will narrate a kinetic story and will proceed at breakneck speed shifting between storylines. Scott Gimple also teased that the groups battle will bring in an intense conflict in the post-apocalyptic drama.
The Saviors have teamed up with the Scavengers and we can expect to see them going to war against the Alexandrians, Hilltop, and The Kingdom which has all now united as one, but will the Scavengers stay true to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and The Saviors? As we all know Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) the leader of the Scavengers is always looking for the better deal, so it’s possible that she may just find one.
The showrunner has previously hinted that we could also see a major time jumping in Season 8 with some super intense flashbacks. TV Line reports the series has also added two new characters to the cast who are supposed to help Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew in the battle for survival. The characters will be highly skilled as they have been on their own for quite some time now. So they definitely know how to hold their own. One of the characters is named Dillon who is described as a sexy, blue-collar twenty-something year old whose survival skills include sarcasm. Then there’s Abbud, an innately likable Muslim American whose nerves are, let’s say, jangle, because he’s flown solo for too long in Zombieland.
TV Line says Dillon has a better chance of making it longer being that they came across some indications that the actor’s role could sign on for multiple seasons. So it’s great that we have some more good guys coming our way for Season 8. It’s going to be exciting to see what they bring to the table. How do you Walking Dead viewers feel about having new characters added?
