Hollyoaks Spoilers: Brendan Brady Returns! Emmett Scanlan Appears In Hollyoaks' LGBT SpecialThere’s fabulous news out for “Hollyoaks,” fans: Stendan is back! In a super exciting move, the iconic soap is releasing an LGBT documentary entitled, “Hollyoaks: Pride,” and fan faves Emmett J. Scanlan, who played Brendan Brady, and Kieron Richardson (Ste Hay) are among the narrators.

The documentary celebrates the soap’s representation of LGBT+ issues throughout its 22 year history, and fans will no doubt be delighted to see Scanlan back on their television screens.

The innovative documentary is a loving look back at some of the sudser’s most memorable pioneering scenes and storylines. In addition to Stendan and Richardson, some of “Hollyoaks’” biggest LGBT heroes of the past and present will narrate, in addition to a number of influential LGBT figures.

“Hollyoaks: Pride,” is a part of Channel 4’s, “50 Shades of Gay,” season which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalization of homosexuality in the United Kingdom. According to “Hollyoaks,” executive producer Bryan Kirkwood, the channel “was created to give a voice to a minority audience so I think it’s incredibly important that Hollyoaks, as C4s flagship drama, gives that voice to LGBT+ viewers.”

The documentary is available on Channel 4 streaming service All4. Also available on All4 are curated boxsets of classic LGBT-focused “Hollyoaks” episodes. The historic episodes include some of the show’s most famous and beloved scenes, including Ste and Brendan during their time in Dublin, and John Paul and Craig’s first kiss.

Also featured in the boxsets are scenes from Kim and Esther’s wedding; the nuptials were the very first lesbian wedding to be aired on a soap. In addition fans can view Sally’s epic transition story. Soap fans will also be interested to know that Richardson is currently working on a documentary that examines parenting in the LGBT+ community. The show is scheduled to air later this year. Richardson is married to Carl Hyland, and the couple recently announced the birth of their twins Chase and Phoebe Rae, by surrogate.
