‘General Hospital’ News: Carolyn Hennesy Reveals She’d Like To Return To Contract On GH

'General Hospital' News: Carolyn Hennesy Reveals She’d Like To Return To Contract On GHIs legal eagle Nora Buchanan (Hillary B. Smith) about to replace mob mouthpiece Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) on, “General Hospital?” Not if Hennesy has anything to say about it!

By now GH viewers know that two-time Emmy winner Hillary B. Smith is set to show up in Port Charles sometime soon. The talented actress will be reprising the role she last played on the now defunct sudser, “One Life to Live.”

Back in January GH honcho Frank Valenti revealed the news of the crossover role. Unfortunately, he left fans with a typical soap-like cliffhanger, declining to give deets about her arrival date or storyline particulars.

Will the two pretty legal eagles be friends or foes? That remains to be seen! What loyal fans have been seeing a bit more these days is sharp-tongued Diane, as she struts her stuff around town.

Diane has been helping her bestie Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) battle personal and professional demons. When Alexis lost the right to practice law she went on a downward spiral that including drinking and vehicular maiming (it was only her ex-husband, though).

Remember when Diane had real storylines? Like when she was defending Sonny every other day, and making out with hunky bodyguard Max every night! Those were the days.

Fans can always catch the popular Hennesy in a primetime gig it seems, but they’d love to have her back a little more regularly on GH as well.

Luckily, Hennesy herself is in agreement. In a recent Twitter Q&A she acknowledged that she would welcome the chance to leave recurring status for contract.

“Hmm…steady paycheck and working with Nancy Lee Grahn?” she replied when asked about the prospect of spending more time in Port Chuck. “Sign me up!”

There is another way to catch up with Hennesy, however. She will be among the stars appearing at the upcoming General Hospital Convention in Los Angeles, set to take place March 10-12.
