EastEnders Spoilers: Phil Mitchell’s Shocking Secret Revealed – Did He Kill Jay’s Dad?

Earlier in the week EastEnders hinted that Phil (Steve McFadden) had a deep dark secret. He told Jay (Jamie Borthwick) that he was leaving him the land of the car lot but nobody knew why as he is not his biological son. Well we’re about to find out why and it seems to be a juicy secret.

EastEnders spoilers tease there is to be a two-episode special featuring only Phil and Jay in which Phil will admit that it was him who killed Jay’s father! Since Phil decided to hand out his businesses to the young men he has become a recluse. Not talking about why he decided to leave Ben his actual son less money. He has been quite and moody not letting anyone understand his bizarre decision.

According to EastEnders spoilers, Jay will have it out with Phil about the decision as his friendship with Ben is now under threat and he himself is confused about the generosity from a man who is known to be cold and often mean to Jay. But the answers Jay gets are not what he expected.

Jay knows his father was beaten to death by criminals but Phil’s involvement has never been made known. Perhaps this is why he took the young lad in after the death as he felt guilt for making him homeless.

This shock twist will obviously drive a wedge between the pair who have bonded hugely over the last few years. Jay will be hugely hurt by the revelation of this secret and will lose the father figure he thought he had. He will go as far as moving out and declaring he is no longer a Mitchell. He confides in his best friend Ben (Henry Reid) who will also fight with his father over the discovery.

What connections did Phil have with Jay’s dad? And why is he only now letting Jay know about the crime he committed when he could have told him long ago? We will find out on the 21st of August when the special episodes air.
