‘Days Of Our Lives’ Poll: Which Actress Would You Like To See Replace Kate Mansi As Abigail Deveraux? Vote Now!

‘Days Of Our Lives’ spoilers recently revealed that Kate Mansi was exiting the NBC soap – and leaving the role of Abigail Deveraux.  The fate of Kate’s character has been up in the air since she confirmed her exit on social media.  ‘Days’ rumors have been floating around the internet that the NBC soap opera is looking to recast the role of Abigail.

‘Days Of Our Lives’ put out a casting call for a character named “Val” – who sounds an awful lot like Abigail.  The casting call specifically called for a “big name actor” which is unusual for a new character, unless of course it is not a new character.  It’s not unusual for soaps to change the name of a character when they are looking for a huge recast.  And, considering the fact that Abigail Deveraux is front and center on the soap and involved with many characters, it almost seems impossible for them not to recast the role.

Kristen Alderson

Kristen Alderson shocked ‘General Hospital’ fans last year when she resigned from her role of Kiki Jerome – and before that she was a regular on the now cancelled daytime drama ‘One Life To Live.’  Although Alderson told fans that she wanted to branch out from soaps and take on new projects, popular theory among ‘GH’ fans is that it her reasoning to leave the soap opera was more or less related to her break-up from co-star Chad Duell.  Either way, Kristen is not working at the moment – and she definitely has enough experience to make the role of Abigail Deveraux her own.

Kim Matula

Kim Matula left her role as Hope Logan on ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ roughly a year ago to pursue a movie career.  Agents haven’t exactly been knocking down her door with roles since her exit – and there is a good chance she may be looking for some work right about now.  Kim has plenty of soap experience and would definitely be considered a “big name actor.”

Brittany Underwood

‘One Life To Live‘ alum Brittany Underwood was a fan favorite among soap viewers after her six year stint as Langston Cramer.  She is definitely the right age to play the part of Abigail Deveraux and has a ton of experience.  Also, since the cancellation of ‘OLTL,’ Brittany has been very active in the soap world and stars on not one, but two internet soaps – ‘Youthful Daze’ and ‘The Bay.’  She has a ton of ties to ‘DOOL’ thanks to her co-stars on those two internet soaps, maybe they could hook her up with NBC’s casting department?

Jade Harlow

It’s not unusual for soap operas to recast actors in new roles.  Jade actually appeared in a few episodes of ‘Days Of Our Lives‘ as Sheryl Connors in 2014, so she is familiar with the ins and outs of the soap.  Also, she is a regular on ‘The Bay‘ and starred on ‘Youthful Daze’ – so she has worked closely with some ‘Days‘ stars like Jen Lilley and Marybeth Evans.  She’s a few years older than the character of Abigail – but she does have a younger appearance and could easily pass as someone in her mid 20’s.

Kelly Thiebaud

Kelly Thiebaud would definitely be considered a “big name actor” after her recent stint on ‘General Hospital‘ as Britt Westbourne – and she hasn’t been working on any major projects since the left the ABC soap, so she may be looking for work.  Kelly pulled off the “mommy” role on ‘GH‘ perfectly (except she stole the baby) – so she could definitely work some magic on the ‘Days‘ set.
