‘Coronation Street’ News: Georgia Taylor Back – Toyah Battersby’s Return Date & Storyline Revealed

Fan favorite Georgia Taylor is headed back to Coronation Street.  Her character Toyah Battersby who has not been seen on the cobbles since 2003 will be headed back to Weatherfield at Christmas.  Big sister Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) who is pregnant and dealing with the stress of her baby’s father being Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and her fiance Nick Tilsley (Adam Rickitt) jealousy could use her sister around.  But you just know that Toyah is not coming back to town without a suitcase full of problems.

It looks like the storyline starts out with everyone heading to Toyah’s house for the holidays but Toyah’s marriage is on the rocks and she walks out on her husband.  Of course, Christmas plans have to be changed fast.

According to Radio Times, “Toyah has reached a real crossroads, she needs support – and not just from Leanne, but from other people on the Street that she knows, like Roy, who she’s also very close to.”

Of course, Toyah is convinced her marriage is over but her husband Toby heads to the street determined to win her back.  Toby is willing to offer Toyah anything but Toyah makes it clear she is done with him.  Stay tuned to Soap Opera Spy to see how this all plays out.

In 2001, Georgia won the Best Dramatic Performance British Soap Award for playing Toyah.  She has kept herself busy while away from the site appearing in many TV series and films.
