'The Young And The Restless' (Y&R) News: Judith Chapman Directs And Stars In 'A Street Car Named Desire'“The Young and the Restless” fans have definitely missed Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) on the soap. She was last shown about a year ago when her on-screen son, Michael (Christian LeBlanc) fell ill after undergoing cancer treatment. They gave a lame excuse as to why he was sick- never revealing his cancer to her. Fans believe that she deserved better, and her presence is missed on “Y&R.”

A few months ago, Judith revealed to her social media followers that she isn’t sure when and if the show would call her to work again. She brushed it off by saying that soap work tends to be unpredictable. She seemed happy, content, and not taking the lack of work personally. Fans cannot help but miss her quirky presence and have written to the show to call for a storyline for her.

Judith doesn’t plan to sit and wait for “Y&R” to call; she took on a directing a play in her spare time. She directed the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “A Street Car Named Desire.” Judith noted she hand-picked the cast and was completely pleased with the outcome. She bragged the show landed soap hunk and “All My Children” alumni, John Callahan as the male lead.

She noted that she was too old to play the lead of Blanche (Yo Younger); instead, she was cast as Eunice- the upstairs nosey neighbor.  The opening night is November 13- which will include a meet and greet with the actors before the show.
