GH, YR, and DOOL Event: Weekend With Cast Members To Benefit Autism

Last week I spent the weekend with stars from General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and Days Of Our Lives benefiting autism for the Giant Steps Foundation organized by CH Elegant Entertainment. The stars from GH were Laura Wright aka Carly Corinthos and Ryan Carnes aka Lucas Jones; the stars from Y&R were Sean Carrigan aka Stitch Rayburn and Christian LeBlanc aka Michael Baldwin. Two other actors were scheduled to be there and couldn’t make it; Christopher Sean aka Paul Narita from Days Of Our Lives had strep throat and John Driscoll aka Chance Chancellor from Y&R was called in to the army. With the absence of these two actors, William deVry aka Julian Jerome from GH was in town and filled in for the two perfectly on Sunday. although he couldn’t on Saturday, as he already had tickets to attend a Canadiens hockey game at the Bell Centre.

On Saturday, when we arrived at the event location, Chapel de l’Ecole Mont-de-Lasalle, we were given photographs of each star which would be personally autographed by them later in the evening. And, you know I am saving them for Soap Opera Spy fans; check in later this month and you might be the lucky winner of one of those photos!

The first part of the event was a cocktail that provided fans with an opportunity to ask the stars questions and to get to know them a bit better. A round of Family Feud on stage offered fans the opportunity to play with the actors. Afterwords, the evening moved on to the karaoke portion and the silent auction to benefit the Giant Steps Foundation. During the auction, I was out bid on a painting of an elephant that Christian painted with one of the children from the school. But Christian, being such an awesome person, made it up to me and drew elephants on two of his photos that we will be giving away later this month to some lucky Soap Opera Spy fans.

Karaoke was great fun, all the actors participated and Sean in particular had a great voice. The evening ended with dancing and plenty of time for fans to mingle and get to know the stars. All in all, it was a great evening, well organized and the actors were so down to earth and eager to please their fans.

On Sunday, the event resumed at Pont Mercier Bowling Alley. Laura, Ryan, Christian and Sean arrived, along with William deVry. The actors split up into teams with the fans to play one round. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a lite lunch which gave us time to ask more questions and get some one on one time with our favorite actors. Ryan brought his drum sticks to auction off and I just knew that a Soap Opera Spy fan would love to have them! So, I won the auction and Ryan personally signed them, ROCK ON!

It was truly a pleasure to meet all these wonderful actors and the fact that proceeds from the event and the auction went to benefit autism, made it even more special.
