‘General Hospital’ News: GH Alum John Stamos Sentenced For DUI

'General Hospital' News: GH Alum John Stamos Sentenced For DUIFormer “General Hospital” fan favorite, John Stamos has been blessed this year. He has a new series, “Grandfathered” that is doing extremely well, and he won’t be serving ANY jail time for his DUI from June 12. He won’t even have to do community service for the charge. During his arraignment in Airport Courthouse on November 24, his attorney Blair Berk entered a plea of no contest to the incident.

Stamos will be placed on informal [non-reporting] probation for the next 36 months. He will also have to pay a fine of $390 for the DUI charge- which is a misdemeanor, according to Deadline on Tuesday. The actor was not in the courtroom during the hearing, but the judge ordered him to attend a DMV class as part of his sentence. His classes and probation should not affect his schedule or impact filming on his FOX TV show, “Grandfathered.” The show is on break this week in order to allow the actors and crew time to spend with their families over Thanksgiving.

John Stamos was facing up to six months in the slammer; however, that would be an extremely rare sentence. After the June 12 incident, Stamos immediately entered a drug treatment program. He was originally charged with DUI, “Driving under the Influence. “The arresting officer claimed that John was ‘behaving strangely and driving erratically,” which prompted the officers to pull him over cite him for a DUI. “Grandfathered” will air their special Thanksgiving episode tonight on FOX. John Stamos can watch the episode, wherever he is, and feel extra thankful that his legal troubles are over.
