sal stowersDays of Our Lives” Sal Stowers [Lani] gave her favorite Holiday recipe, Brie and Cranberry Rolls to Soap Opera Digest. She noted she was always looking for new recipes to impress her family with during family gatherings, and this recipe is definitely a crowd pleaser.

Sal said, “I always like to find new things to cook or bake, especially with Holiday dinners. I found this one about four years ago, and I thought it would make a great appetizer. I love it.” Stowers noted that she used the classic recipe all year round, but much more often in the Holiday season. “It works great with Thanksgiving or Christmas, but I use it all year round, depending on the meal,” she explained.

She said there aren’t many ways to tweak the recipe. She said other times of the year, she will substitute the cranberries for Apples, peaches, or apricots. “I use fresh cranberry preserves for Thanksgiving and switches it up with fresh apricots during other times of the year,” Sal noted.

Ingredients

1 8 oz. package of Pillsbury crescent rolls

1 8 oz. round brie cheese block

3 tablespoons fresh cranberry preserves

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and unwrap the crescent rolls. Cut the brie cheese in small cubes, and take one to two cubes and place in the unwrapped crescent roll. Roll the cheese in the roll and place it on a greased baking sheet. Cook for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Add the fresh cranberry preserves in a serving dish and place the cooked rolls around the serving dish on a platter. Make sure to serve the roll hot, so they are crispy and the cheese is warm.

** You can substitute apples, peaches or apricots preserve during non-holiday seasons.
