‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: Matthew Ashford Returns To ‘DOOL’ As Jack Deveraux

'Days Of Our Lives' News: Matthew Ashford Returns To 'DOOL' As Jack Deveraux“Days of Our Lives” spoilers gave fans a teaser for what’s coming in the spring of 2016. TV Insider reported that Matthew Ashford will reprise his role of Jack Deveraux for a special five-episode stint. The news sent shockwaves throughout social media because “DAYS” fans expected Jack to stay dead. Jack was last seen on the show when he sacrificed his life to save his daughter, Abigail [Kate Mansi]. The show gave him a very emotional sendoff almost four years ago.

It looks like considering how short his stay will be with the NBC daytime drama, there is little hope that he will rekindle his romance with Jen [Melissa Reeves]. It is hard to predict what his storyline could entail considering how far in advance the show tapes.

Executive producer, Ken Corday swore to the fans over the summer that they would not bring any other characters back from the dead. Could that imply that Jack will appear to one of his loved ones as a ghost or vision?  Fans are not entirely sure how Ashford will be written in the storyline; however, they have voiced their disappointment in Corday for going back on his word for bringing back another dead character.

Matthew Ashford is reportedly scheduled to start filming this week, according to Soap Opera Digest. His episode will air late April or early May since “DAYS” shoots about six months in advance. No details have been released about the storyline, yet. As soon as Soap Opera Spy learns any details of the storyline he is taping, we will post the scoop immediately.
